Guitar player here too - but way out of practice. My toddler plays it more than I do (clever little lad can pluck the strings nicely one by one).
I did something for myself today.... I bought my favourite new zealand sweets from the supermarket today and scoffed the lot!
I went riding today! I have not been in a month. I rode better than ever. It was so cool. I was graceful and strong and in control. It was awesome. I have been feeling so down lately. Riding is one time when I forget about MS. I am on the horse and we are trotting around and I feel good. Then I had a coke and a butterfinger on the way home.
I am going out tomorrow to take pictures of Pat's favorite retired horse to paint him for a xmas present. She has had a bad year but she makes time to let me ride every week I can. There are really great people in this world wanting to help.

I think my hubby must have read this post! I emailed him earlier to ask what I should make for dinner and he said "Take the night off, I'll stop and get sandwich fixings." I love sandwiches! Yay for a not cooking night!!
PD, I buy from Amazon a lot. I'd say about 95% of my online purchases are from them. Love the super saver shipping!

I don't know about the *feel good and instant gratification* part, but I have been trying to be kind to myself this week. There are not enough hours in this week, and as you can obviously tell one of the first things on my plate to be dropped was spending my crazy hours here.
It will be impossible to catch up with this week's happenings here on the forum, so I won't even try. If there's something significant going on, please drop me a PM so I am sure to pay attention.
It's great to read that everyone is being kind - especially with the ice cream!
hugs to all,
Lulu
Oh such good soldiers, lol Sumi
I've had that Chocovine a yr or two back and it's super yummy!
Im cracking up at the 'drsdonthelp' make 'Ufrustrated2' hahaha
How many guitar players do we have on the forum anyway? G-Girl, Ufrustrated (congrats on your fender purchase!), Huff? Anyone else?
I'm going to go out and get another bottle of Raspberry Chocovine. Yes, chocolate wine! Actually it's more like a Bailey's type use but man is it good. They make Chocolate and Raspberry chocolate. All my pain doc said about it was it has sulfites and it might bring on a migraine. Chocolate wine...who cares, lol!
oh, i forgot, i bought a fender electric guitar in oct and started lessons. getting some work done on it to help my fingers play easier (getting strings lowered). didn't know that could be done. ;-)
all this is new to me and i'm having fun with it. can't jump out of planes now so i'm gonna try to learn some pretty songs to play and entertain my feral cats & myself!
at the least i have something interesting and fun to work on bsides MS and VA challenges!!
I've been practicing on my guitar. There's a song that's drove me nuts and I finally figured it out. Now it's time to eat, probably pizza since they deliver and I'm to cold to go out.

I've been sick with a bad cold or the flu & feel terrible! I'm ready to do something nice & special! Heck, I might buy a round of drinks for us all tomorrow night - lol - meaning a chocolate shake!
Nancy
I haven't had a shake in probably two years since joining Weight Watchers!
Hey the drs that dont help, making ''ufrustrated2" LOL
Thanks! Love your name too!! LOL
love the "drsdonthelp" name!
i bought some Christmas lights and a wreath. hope to get them up soon. LOL
went out of town to visit some friends and made some new friends...another vet with MS...small world...his dad has MS too from the vietnam era with the AO stuff.
For the first time in a long time, I have no pending orders at Amazon, and the order that shipped today will probably be here before I have any money to order anything else. No smutty novels, mind you. Mostly tools & building materials, & some more music videos for the church.
Oh! Can I play too?
It's been a crazy week, DH has been home late 3 days in a row so I've been on my own with the dinnertime crazy, there is a cold running through the house and I was awake with our youngest for 2 hours overnight and got puked on, the kids had a 1/2 day today...yadda yadda yadda.
So, in the spirit of this awesome thread, I just ordered a smutty romance novel off of amazon for myself. $4 of pure mindless enjoyment :-)

Sounds yummy to me Pastor!!!!
So I reread sllowe's post and she definitely said it was an "order"! I never disobey an order sooooooooooo
I ordered a set of mix-matched socks! They are impractical and silly. Each comes with different color toe, heel and top band (yellow, pink and blue). One has hearts, one dots and one stars in bright bold colors. Why? Just because they make me smile!!!! Twenty dollars spent being foolish but will brighten my days!
An order is an order!!
whipped cream ontop of ice cream counts ALOT in my book!
Hmmm. Before reading this post (just now), I bought some pumpkin ice cream. Does that count? Okay, scoop out some pumpkin ice cream, smother it with whipped cream, drizzle that with chocolate syrup, and (sorry, sumanadevii) sprinkle that with whole peanuts. Decadence indeed.
Lunchtime, isn't it?
You are all so funny! And, decadent!!!!
Who ever got to it last night, one more night is on the order. And for those who couldn't pull it off for one reason or another the order for today is try try again!
Thank you so much for the fun party. And, for keeping it going in my absens. I managed to join in this morning with just reading all this.
Wishing you all a good day today :)
ttys,
Shell
About the time you wrote this post, I did something wonderful for myself - I did my Yoga. It was kind of a hard day, and I went in kind of shaky, but I reminded myself this is MY practice, and curled up into "Child's Pose" when I needed to. I'm always so glad I did it when I'm through.
Tonight I used up the last of the garden's Hungarian peppers and made the season's last Lecso (Hungarian soul food - onions, tomatoes, Hungarian peppers, paprika) over rice with a big dollop of sour cream. Had to use canned tomatoes, though. My tomatoes didn't fare well, this year.
I'm enjoying a square of dark chocolate and a snifter of brandy for desert.
At the last minute I changed my order to a hot fudge sundae. I sat in my warmest night gown....(oh soooo warm and soft) and enjoyed each bite. What an uplift...to just out of the blue treat ourselves!!!! I am going to remember this lesson for one of my grumpy days. Hugs to you for sharing and spreading the love.,
I tried!!! But with kids ages 7 and 4 and my hubby not being home, it's kinda hard. My cuddle up time on the couch lasted about 1/2 an hour and then homework , mac and cheese because they didn't want pizza, and bath time. I just tucked them in and it's wayyyyyyy past their bedtime. I now can have my quiet time. I hope!
Like Meg, I am spoiled too.
Empty nest - out on medical leave from my job - But I still feel like I should always be "doing" something - cleaning, or cooking, shopping, exercising - have a hard time with "nothingness" - but today the weather was awful - tons or rain, wind, snow - so gray!
So I snuggled under my blanket next to my dog, and caught up on some of my Oprah's that I had recorded.
I had a doctor's appointment today, so on the way home I stopped at little ceasar's for 2 hot and ready pizza's.....my kid's just love it!!
I really like not having dishes to do.
Thanks Shell for reminding us all to have some time for ourselves, I'm sure it did everybody good.
Hugs, Pamela
