Some people care but don't understand.

I have a good pal who was basically told that he was so over ridden with toxins that his body was shutting down and he was told he had a very short time to live.

He went to a retreat for a week and I honestly believe it saved his life.  It was a nutritional detox.  It honestly helped him.  Well I ran into him today and he swears I need to do it, "It will save me"

The first couple days you work out super hard in a steam room and get all the sweat out.  I just took his concern and the phone number politely all the while laughing my tail off inside.  Could you imagine trying to cure MS by exercising in a steam room??? LOL

Trust me I am all for the eating the right thing and education about natural ideas, but the sweat it out detox made me laugh.

I have decided I also will enter you research on the chocolate thing. The only artificial sweetener I use is sweet n low. Does that have aspartane I forget? But then I wear a name tag to remember my name or is it because the hospital makes me, cant remember that either, Tried Acai juice not worth its money. Tried a glass of wine every night. Tasted good did not do a thing. Went out Sunday morning for 1 1/2 hours to a flea market before church. I live in arkansas. It wa 92 degrees by ten am, DUMB idea. lept the afternoon away and could nt make it to evening service. So I do not think the steam room is a good idea. A cool pool sounds good so maybe water aerobic without the aerobic part would be good. Honestly though I love my treadmill because I can hang on. I can adjust my speed. I am wobbly when  get off but it right by my bed so I can rest if needed. I bought a workout stick they taught me to use in physicl therapy for upper body strength and it is good.  You just hold it in the middle and shake it and it works your arms. It does not hurt and it helps. As for not being saved because you have MS. Tell whoever it is that salvation is between you and Jesus Christ. He alone is the author of salvation and it is through his blood and not there judgement that one s saved. He promised us eternal life with him not here on this earth so how can we expect to be of perfect health the time we spend on this earth. I absolutely can not stand people who are judgemental and assume people get sick because of "sin". Okay I am gettng off my soap box befor I  fall Off.

Oh I got a good e-mail today from my BFF. An Ohio study finds Biosolid (humane waste) fertilitizer causes MS.

CURE FOR MS AND ASSOCIATE NEURO D/0

I would like to offer myself as a guinea pig for the Chocolate Cure.  Yesterday, I was finally able to go to a bakery in downtown Ann Arbor.  They make the best brownies evah.  So I picked up two small packages of them.

Then as I was checking out I happened to see their homemade moon pies.  OMG,  chocolate covered homemade marshmallow and cream.  So I thought I would buy one to share with my sister.  NOT, barely made it out of the parking log.   mmmmmmmmmmm

I'm just sure they are good for me.  While I was eating it everything seemed to disappear--I know it has to be good for me.

Well, you could also say that good health is merely the slowest rate at which one can die.

I am currently working on the Chocolate Cure.  I'm sure it is working.  I'll talk more about it after I mop the floor again and do yet another load of laundry.

I believe that God answers all prayers.  It's just that sometime (S)He says "no".

Our 15 guests (none of whom are staying at our house) has jumped to 19.  It's a party!

Terri,

"Juicing"?? Isn't that what we're doing when we're all hopped up on steroids? LOL

I can't even imagine getting some of these suggestions! Right now since I'm so newly diagnosed (sort of diagnosed LOL) I just get a lot of "How are you doing?".

Oh, I did have one friend email me about artificial sweeteners, but she said she had gotten the email and did not have time to check snopes yet, but figured she would pass it along anyway. I only have *maybe* one diet soda a month, and usually don't finish it. Other then that I drink water. My hubby and kids were drinking crystal light every night with dinner, but my hubby's blood pressure was pretty high recently so we are trying to cut out the crystal light for them. They have it about once every 10 days right now.

If only they would come up with a theory that MS is caused by a lack of Vitamin Chocolate :-)

Oh, I was given enough Acai berry stuff to endure a month's "treatment."  No effect whatsoever, and ...  BLECH!!

Let us know when FDA approves it.  Any volunteers for clinical trials?

My suspicion is that there is a difference in the incidence of MS, Crohn's, RA, and a host of other odds & ends among people of varying faiths as much as from differences in parastite exposure.  I'm not being facetious; I'm only saying that the hypothesis needs to be better examined for the possibility of other factors than the parasites.  Maybe it's the electricity in our homes.  Maybe it's sunshine.  Maybe it's pasteurized milk.  Maybe it's sugar.

Until then, I'll stick with therapies that are supported by a broader consensus.  I understand desperation, but I want neither myself nor my loved ones to become guinea pigs for the local witch doctor.  If this makes me a pawn in the conspiracies of Big Pharma and its minions in Big Medicine, so be it.  If it means I die sooner because I've passed up a possible cure, so be it.  I'm going to die anyway, and sooner than I'd presently prefer.

A friend of my husband's said "I needed to start juicing."  My husband bought a juicer, I tried it, did not work......LOL

I am sure juicing is good for you, but I can hardly stomach it!

I know this is all in good fun, but the helminth and hookworms are actually being looked at seriously:

A friend just sent me the hookworm cure last week -  'nuff said.  LOL

I swore off aspartame after my heart attack- there is anecdotal evidence that it causes spasms.  Come to think of it, being off the diet stuff might not be a bad idea for MS, too.

Thanks for this fun topic.

be well, Lulu

Oh yeah forgot about aspartame that was brought up at the last MS support meeting. It is useful for killing ants and it can be lethal for dogs so I avoid it.

The ewww factor just ranked up a notch, i believe in science but i'd still not go there if the cure was round worms, yuck!! hmmmm what about leeches?

I think it's too easy for people to look at me and say my problems revolve around food, give me a dollar for every time i've heard something about food, gee i'd be rich. "Well you know there's not enough fat on your bones, you need to eat more [insert food of the month]". "No wonder you can't stop shaking, your too skinny!"

Mum: "I was just reading about aspartame (sp) you have to stop drinking soft drink" Me: "funny but i dont drink anything cold but water". Mum: "ohhh then 'miracle water' will fix you right up".

I dont think anyone visits with out bringing food, thats the cure people, eat more food lol. What makes it even more ridiculous is that i also hear "You never seem to stop eating" then in the next breath i'll still get a comment about not eating enough because i'm too skinny, lol i can't win!

Hmmm steam room, sounds as good as those worms lol

Cheers....JJ

Hey, how hot is that pool?  It sounds like it's warm - try cold water, and see if it's any better.

Of course, when I exercise, I always have a hard time moving around afterwards - my legs are all wobbly.  I go and take as cold a shower as possible, and I feel better eventually.

Personally I think that any exercise is good for you.  Even if your muscles are weak, it's neurological, not physical.

I'm thinking about the Wii too - I would love to have a machine to exercise with, or even play games like tennis or bowling.

I am sorry I missed in on all the fun.

I just am not sure which juice or detox to pick.  Maybe the one that tastes the worst.  Maybe if I drop cow speen in my smoothie? Oh wait its round worms is it? BLECK!!!

I believe that education, self participation, faith, and good health care takers who walk a fine line between what the FDA demands and what is good for us is what is improtant.  Oh and I guess a positive attitude helps.

My family is pushing to get me a Wii and I would love to have one for my good days, but do you spend one day playing Wii then 3 days paying? Does that get better as you go along like an athlete, you are sore the first couple days but get better as you push on??

I love being in a pool and am trying to figure out how to get one in my house.  Problem is, I can't walk when I get out cuz I weigh 10x more than I did in the pool and gravity has a sudden passion to prove its might.

Thanks to all of you for this forum as it is one of the most important things for the health of my course of MS and whatever else my Dr is not investigating.  Together we will cure each other!

Big Hugs

Hook worms and whip worms are relatively benign parasitic infections - they do cause some symptoms, like weight loss, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.  Round worms are a little more dangerous, and include shortness of breath.

There's a definite 'eww!' factor here:

http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/roundworms-000144.htm

At least Mom has stopped pushing acai berry juice, although she's still on about the chondritin.  She takes twelve pills a day, most of them vitamin supplements.  I've tried telling her about all the pills that go undigested in your system and end up getting flushed, but she's pretty stubborn.

i'll stick to the good science, common sense, some exercise & decent eating, thank you.

i would say sleep well but i'm one of those that has a terrible time of regulated quality sleep. just the way it is for me ...

i do take steamers though but chill in  a pool right after. it is slightly problematic, and if it becomes too problematic i'll stop the steam.

btw, what other worms are there but "round" worms? i've seen ones kinda flat, but like all are round, yes?

Yeah, helminthic therapy.  So far my mom and my mom-in-law have told me about this, and they think it's some sort of miracle cure.  Fortunately neither of them believe that I'm sick because I'm 'not faithful enough.'  That would be the last straw.

What a trip!   my family would do this illness the right way.  You know, walking more and more each day.  Working up to waking miles each day---oh and eating right.

Taking vitamins everyday.

Here is another good one.  "OK you only fell because you tripped on that shoe, it was an accident".  How in the world is a fall NOT an accident?

Christians get sick too.  New Christians usually think of God/Jesus as Santa Claus, there to fix everything! Ha

People are such a trip

Yeah, I know.  Everyone seems to have the answers.  I have family that has a Wii and it has the tennis, softball and someother game on it.  I tried doing it one day but because of weakness in my arms, I struggled.  One of the family members made the comment that the reason my arms are weak is because I don't use them much.  If only they knew!!!  I'm saved by the wonderful grace of Jesus Christ but just because a person is saved doesn't mean they won't have disease or other illnesses.

Ewww!  Round worms??  So, did you try it?  lol

Maybe try eating round worms while sitting in a steam room might work.

I have been told I need to be saved, too.  Also, to just "Get over it".

Let see I have been told I need to go to  a Past Life Regretion workshop to cure my MS by one friend. It was all I could do not to laugh.

The folks down the street said getting saved will do it. Don't get me wrong I am a Christian just not the right kind according to these folks.

My yoga instructor said a serious emertion in Yoga will cure my MS. I was not trying hard enough.

Another friend thinks I need to eat round worms because German Pig Farmers are supposed to be immune to MS.

LOL, I can't even imagine! I had to run errands on saturday, and it was warm (around 80) and very humid, and I felt like a cooked spaghetti noodle after just a little bit.

Well I'm glad you didn't take your friends advice and try to sweat in a steam room or take a hot bath for long time.
