OK. I need help...

Hey, everybody!  As you know, I don't have a diagnosis of any kind.  I have been posting on this forum since April, I believe.  Although my docs aren't sure what's going on with me, I have severe muscle cramps and tightness ALL over.  It's driving me crazy!

My neuro has observed increased muscle tone in all four limbs, so I know I'm not making it up, at least.  He just doesn't know the cause yet.  So my question is this~~

What do I do???

I know you all have given me your remedies before.  I need them again, please!  I'm in so much pain!  My jaw hurts, my toes are sticking out every which way, my neck is as hard as a rock!  My legs are the same as always -- like a gerbil is climbing around under my skin.  I'm naming him Goober.

I just sent my hubby to the store for tonic water.  Any other suggestions?

As you probably remember, I take baclofen & quinine. However, I still have the brain-numbing soasms too, so perhaps they're not the best choice. If you can stand the pain of touching a spasming muscle (no small feat), it really helps me to rub in Icy Hot or one of those type of products and put a heating pad over the most painful area. Helps for the short term. Gives a little break so I don't go any more crackers than I already am. Unfortunately, that's as far as I've gotten. Nothing has really taken it away. Some nights I am literally slathered with Icy Hot - kinky, I know, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Thank you so much!  We must have posted at the same time!

My history might be way back on one of the first pages.  I've been around a long time!  I also posted a little blurb on Heather's "Regroup," if that's helpful.  So nice of you to ask.

I do have some muscle relaxants from last year, which are still good, and I've tried them, but no luck.  I just finished a whole bottle of tonic water (no vodka, dagnabbit!) and I think it's helping a bit.  I may take the relaxant just to see if it helps on top of the tonic.  I hate to take anything that makes me dizzier than my blond self already is!

I appreciate your post, ess.  Take care!

Hey!  I should have known you'd come to my rescue.  Is that all you ever do?

My doc is working hard on my case.  Just not very quickly.  He sent me to an endocrinologist whom I'm following up with next week, so maybe I'll give his office a call tomorrow.  I just can't stand it!  I'm so tight!

I could bounce a quarter off any part of me, and it's not because I'm so fit, believe me!  Tee hee!

Thanks for your help!

I'm certainly a newcomer relative to you, and I don't know your history, etc. If there's someplace or places where you've posted this, let me know and I'll go back and read it all. Not that I'll be able to offer much help, being not too knowledgeable to say the least, but at least I can try....

Have you taken any muscle relaxants? How have you been treating your symptoms while trying to get a definitive diagnosis? Has Lyrica helped?

One thing I do know is that you post so many caring and supportive messages for others, over and over, and they are appreciated more than you can know. So if it helps just to 'yell' here every day, then do it for sure. We're pulling for you.

Hi Momzilla,

Aaaaarg, your at your wits end I see!  You and your body need a break.  Sounds like it's time for a change to me.  Has your Neuro suggested seeing another (sorry, if I'm asking a redundant question)?  It's so hard to fight-a-good-fight when your body is killing you.  So, I'm not even going to get into a pep talk.  Sounds to me that you just need some relief and someone who is going to get to the underlying problem that is causing all of this.  I'd call the office in the am, request to speak w/him or her and just say - Look, I'm trying my best to deal, but it's all I can stands and I can't stands no more. . . . Time to find some answers.

With all the tightness, your body must feel like it's in a vice.  Do you have any anti-inflammatory meds? I know they don't fix, but if they can give you a hair of a break i'd might help.

Aw, now I'm just blabbering, I so wish I could help.  I know there are anti-inflammatory type food out there, but have to do some digging to find out where I saw it. . .

I'm thinking about you Zilla and pray you get some relief. . .
