OT Just got Library for the Blind

I saw the thing in Momentum about audio books for MSers so I applied. I just got the call yesterday. I have exhausted our local library's CDs plus getting books from there is hard. When all I can do is lie in bed audio books are the greatest. They keep the depression at bay. I can't watch TV either. So I have been listening to music a lot. I even listen in the middle of the night to keep from thinking. My world sometimes closes in on me so this is a way of escape.

As for extended vacation....it does get old...doesn't it.... And I can understand why you are sick of treatment....Lots of hugs to you <3

"The cave" lol....That is funny how your husband defines it, but in a way I can see that it is probably hard for you as well..

They are sending both digital and tape. The lady was real nice. She must have known how crazy I was getting, her call was great. I did not have a letter my Doctor just had to sign a form it was easy. Easier than the handicap bus that form was 40 pages!

I have to admit I have started withdrawing which is unlike me. My husband calls my room the cave.

In the future they will have what I call the cancer coma. They put you in a coma and months later you wake up and your cancer treatment is done. I am officially sick of treatment. Or they will give you a drug to forget the whole experience. Like when you wake up after surgery and can't remember.

Actually I am losing all kinds of weight. I can sleep for days. I can cuss out telemarketers. That is my new sport. My husband laughs at that. I get out of all chores. What's not to love about it? This was my dream vacation when I was working. Even vacations get old.

yes, be sure and get both the digital and tape recorders, they are trying to go digital but many will remain on tape and are wonderful.

I've had mine for years.  I got my letter from my eye doctor.  Be sure and make a copy of the letter from your doctor for your files before giving to the library.
