Optic ? and other new symptom

Hi Everyone:

This morning I woke up and my big toe on my left foot is numb off and on.  Then, as the morning went on, my left lower leg (on left side) has a numb sensation to it. It's not numb, but I feel that I've lost a little bit of sensation.  Does this sound MS'y?

I have an appt with my FOURTH Neuro next week locally here near my house.  I've been seen at UCSF but apparently, that's not enough for me.  I'm convinced that I have MS.  Please tell me, do my symptoms sound like they could all be anxiety related?  My first two Neuros (without knowing about my 20 lesions that are not typical of MS) told me it's anxiety.  I am having SEVERE anxiety over all of this and am posting on the anxiety forum as well.

I'm going to take all my MRI's and paperwork to the new neuro and my hubby thankfully is going with me.  He thinks I'm crazy.  He says that the best doctors in the world at UCSF say it's not MS and that I should believe it.  I just can't buy into it that all these crazy symptoms I'm having are anxiety.

Also, read keep reading because this is important.  About 1.5 years ago, I thought I was getting sick so I went to the health food store and bought a ton of Vit C and other stuff and took a massive dose of vitamins.  Within the hour, the vision in my right eye got weird.  I was seeing like a rainbow of colors towards the right and I wasn't able to write or watch TV because everything was "off".  That's the best I can describe it.  I guess it could have been double vision, but to be honest I'm not sure.  It only last 2-3 hours and then just went away.  At the time, I wrote it off to being from all the vitamins I'd consumed at once.  Does this sound like an optic event to anyone?  I had the Optic Nerve test done at UCSF and it was normal.

I'm sorry....I always feel so bad asking these questions but your anwsers are important to me.

Thanks everyone.

Hey Carrie,

Don't think you are crazy - just think it's good you are bringing all w/you for this review. You can definitely have lesions and not have MS and hoping this doc puts a name to why you have these lesions.
Hope you jotted down the eye problems. Just leave out the explanation about what you attributed it to -  many of us do that, but feel it only muddie the docs exam. Stick to the facts, girl - you'll do good. Just explain what you are experiencing once again, the best you can.

Your eye symptoms don't sound anything like the optic neuritis I had.  It was over 9 months ago and I still get vertical double vision and I have a scotoma in my right eye.
My VEP shows excessive latency in the right optic nerve.

My MRI shows a decreased caliber in my right optic nerve and left optic tract.  I went from one lesion to  5 lesions in 6 months and was diagnosed with RRMS.

I think you need to stop thinking about MS.  Start with this new doctor with the idea that you are looking for a diagnosis for your symptoms and a cause for the lesions.  If the doctor brings up MS fine, but I don't think you should.
