Pets and relapses

Has anyone noticed a pet acting strangely/differently when they are heading into a relapse?  My cat has been hanging around me like a bad smell for the last few days, sitting on me when she wouldn't normally and sleeping in my chair when I'm not in it.  My horse has also been overly affectionate when normally she's a bit standoffish.

Yesterday and today I have had little things that suggest to me a relapse is on it's way.  Yesterday when some people came to the door that I don't even know, I just burst into tears and was totally embarrassed.  My fatigue levels also seem to be soaring and today I can honestly say I had three "good" hours.   The dreaded pain is also back despite increasing my pain meds twice in the last ten days.

This disease ***** so badly!!

I don't think my cats would be good indicator. They act strangely ALL the time :-)

My service dog knows when I am going to have diaphragm spasms she refuses to go when we are heading out and acts out. I now know she is telling me not to go out.

My dogs know when I am having a bad day. I have a Newfie that will follow me everywhere.

If I start to wobble she leans against me to make sure ident fall.

I think animals can sense when something is wrong.  My cats seem to anyway.  They pay more attention to me during relapses.  My husband is diabetic, and sometimes his sugar goes too low when he sleeps.  The cats are both all over him, trying to wake him up.

Don't worry too much about what other people think...  They don't have to live your life.  The pain and fatigue can suck the life out of you.

Hang in there.
