MS Brain Today

I had a conference call this morning. My phone was next to the calculator. I picked up the calculator and dialed the number. When I realized my mistake I picked up the phone. It took three tries to dial the number. May be it was because I had to abbreviate a 42 page Medicaid report? I could not find the cat treats. I found them in the freezer. I often put things which do not belong in the freezer in there. Then I almost took all my night time meds thinking they were my morning meds. Good thing I figured it out before I swallowed them because I had taken my morning meds. I am staying home today!

Alex, You have so much going on with all the advocacy work you do, I think your brain must be in overdrive and never shut down

Your comment about the freezer made me smile - my daughter came into the room yesterday and was clearly concerned about something.  She wanted to know if I was ok because she found boxes of mac & cheese in the freezer.  I got to explain to her I had been battling meal moths and had intentionally frozen all my pasta to keep it free of these pesky bugs. She was relieved to get the explanation.  But I have been known to place items in the most unusual spots with no explanation as to why.

hang in there, L

I can also relate to this!  I've done the medication thing, too.  I put my night time medicine out on my tray after I take my morning medicine, so I can get to it easily and not forget them.  I have taken my nightime medicine with my morning one.  Luckily, I figured out from calling the Poison Control Center that I would be okay.  I thought of a plan.  I'd switch out glasses--a green glass for morning and  a blue one for night.  I would put the green glass in the sink in my kitchen when I finish the morning medicine and retrieve the blue one for nightime.  Then I thought about that plan and figure out that it wouldn't work because I'd forget which color was what!

Oh I can relate to all of that, Alex!  At first I thought it was just absentmindedness, now I'm sure it's MS related.

Do you think it's 100% due to the disease process, or do you think it has anything to do with side effects of your meds?

WhenI talk to my neuro about it, he always says it could be the meds.
