pins and needles

Hello,
I am new on here and just wondering if anyone could shed some light for me please.
I'm 32 years old and around 18 months ago a year after having my second child i had a tingling/numb sensation in my tummy up to underneath my armpit,it lasted for a around 3 weeks and I saw my gp after a week of this and he referred me to a neurologist.By the time I got an appointment the symptoms had gone and I felt foolish attending so cancelled.I was fine up until last Thursday 21st feb.I started to feel the same pins and needles sensation in my toes, feet, legs, buttocks and groin area,it has got slightly worse.I am going to contact my gp again tomorrow but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this? I do need alot of sleep and get headaches alot but thats something I have always had.Any help would be appreciated thankyou

It probably would have been best if you had kept the appointment even if your symptoms went away. In the future I would say document your symptoms, their severity and duration (how many days they last). Had this every happened prior to having your child or is this all new?

Hi
Thanks for the reply :) I am going to keep my next appointment even if the symptoms go as its really frightened me this time! I never had anything like this before having my youngest son other than I did have sciatic pain down one leg once years ago the doc gave me diclofenac and co-codamol and it lasted a week but I'm talking around 8 maybe 9 years ago now.

Hi Cher - MS has a funny way of showing up and the disappearing for long periods of time. During my diagnostic process we were able to connect several dots in my medical history. My first relapse was about 18 years before my second major relapse. The third was about 2 years from the second.

It's not at all surprising that your tingling was there one minute and then took a nap for 18 months. Your headaches may or may not be related. The fatigue that people with MS tend to experience tends to be beyond the need for a lot of sleep. When our MS is active, even after we have had a lot of sleep, we need a lot of sleep :-) Getting a drink of water can be exhausting.

So, as Ojibajo said, start keeping a symptom journal. And start keeping appointments :-)

Keep us posted.
