Prednisone Reactions/Side Effects...What were yours?

I think this would be very beneficial for any newbie or even seasoned members to see.  Please post any reactions/side effects you have had.

Also, those that have tried pill form and IV, which did you prefer?  Which had less side effects?

Thank you so much and blessings to all!

I think it was about a year and a half ago I was on IVSM with prednisone taper.  I remember it was hard to sleep.  My back ached terribly, I was very emotional....not sure if the last 2 were because of MS or steroids or recent diagnosis.

For me the pill didn't really give me side affects, the IVSM gave me headache, dry mouth, energy like I have never had, swelling and an appetite I could have done without.

When I finished my IVSM I turned into dr jeckyl and mr hyde. I would be fine one minute and a bear the next, dh got the brunt of it but I appologized and he told me he understood and when I got like that he would just walk away instead of making things worse.

I have had the IVSM several times and I will think twice about it before I take it again. It will have to be a bad flare that won't let up on its own.

Oh and I got thrush after I stopped taking them that has led into me being suseptible to it, now I get it even without the steroids, allergy related, so they tell me lol.

I should add that I really liked the speed with which the IV version attacked the inflammation. The relief was very fast. I'm not sure you would get the same result with oral prednisone.

A year ago I did a 5 day course of IV Solumedrol followed by an oral taper. I did not experience any side effects from either, although my girlfriend says I got a little tense/excitable :-)
