QUIX,
I was wondering about one of the things that you said on Jason's post. It was about the Guillian Barre syndrome. I was wondering if you know anything about the rare variant called Miller Fisher syndrome? I know from reading that it is rare and that it starts in the head and goes down instead of starting in the feet and working it's way up. I asked my neuro about this and he said that I would have a noticable facial droop and would have had respiratory failure.
My numbness did start in my eyes and head and the symtoms have moved down to my neck. Not numbness but stiffness/pain in neck. The numnness in my eyes and head are almost completely gone and so is the neck pain/stiffness. But now I am having these strange tingleing and transient sensation changes in the backs of my calves and the sides of my forearms. This kind of seems like it is kind of going downward from my head toward my feet.
Am I way off base here to suspect this condition? And does the facial droop and the respiratory failure have to be there to have this? I have had a weakness on the right side of my body since this started. Not paralysis but a weakness. It almost feels like the right half of my body is forien to me. My vision loss is on the left side but manifest on the right. I also have had right left confusion, and bad directional confusion from the start. It all has improved but is not gone.
The main reason I think of this as a possibility is because of the complete numbness of my eyes, and scalp at the onset.Your insight would be so much help on this.
Thanks,
Santana
