I see that you are a Dr and I had posted my question on another heading but thought perhaps it should be posted as a new question,. I won't go into my other issues and still waiting to hear definitively if I have MS from the Dr that ran alot of bloodwork and did 3 MRI's of different parts of my spine. I did think back to last yr when I did finally decide to go to a Neuro with many of the same problems I experience today. I brought with me my MRI films from Aug 05' that did note nonspecific subcortical white matter and scattered periventricular distribution lesions without enhancement. Best seen on T2,flair and proton density sequences, without evidence to indicate acute infarct. Findings were stated to be nonspecific and MS can't be diagnosed at this time but can't be ruled out. I took this to the Neuro last yr finally after giving it much thought. He didn't even look at the MRI.Only the pathology summary and told me it sounded indicative of migraines and sent me to the lab to have EBV and Lyme titers drawn. EBV was positive ( I knew I had it 12 yrs ago) but wasn't sure if I was active when labs were drawn, as I feel fatigued all the time really. I was called back by the nurse and told I should go to an infection control specialist as my titers were positive for EBV. No surprise but wasn't sure what they read and didn't give it much thought. Two months later my PCP decides to check to see if virus is still active and 8 wks later my results were this:EBV Ab VCA,IgG 1741 and EBV Nuclear Antigen Ab, IgG 1340. This is again 2 months later! It hit me like a ton of bricks today reading other posts. Tomorrow I will call neuro to see how through the roof my initial titers were and I know everyone is different, but what would you think of those numbers that high still after 8 wks had passed?
I know you aren't a neurologist but that one wasn't even fit to call himself a dr. I know you are a dr and since you do suffer from MS yourself, you are most likely very knowledgeable. We all know when we suffer from various diseases, we become experts by asking questions and reading all the information we can get our hands on. We are our best advocates. I just need a little medical advice or intution, to keep me from tossing and turning all night. I am not scared of the diagnosis, it would almost be a relief to know something is causing all my symptoms and I'm not just stressed. I have two autistic children and everyone blames all my problems on stress. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks so much!
