Sorry I didn't know about your ms. Your nerves may still be hyperactive due to it but that is just a guess on my part. After my nerves were damaged I didn't understand why I couldn't feel but I would have overactive spots that seemed too sensitive or hot/cold spots and the dr explained to me that it was one of the ways my nerves were coping with the loss of feeling. Best wishes, Sissie
Jordan does experience this often in different parts-usually extremities. He will get a sore spot (he stopped asking if something was there...no bruises, scrapes etc...), then zaps that last only a short time and are constant but they do still startle him. It will either go pins and needles, numb or stop. Lasts a few days sometimes. He loses sleep for sure. All we have been told is he is not wired right. He just started Dilantin to help with this as the Neurotin was not doing much good anymore. Sorry this is happening. He says it is painful and exhausting. Wishing you the best!
I had an MRI not to long ago. It was stable form my previous one. MY leg falling asleep, etc. is not really that unusual since I do have MS. It's the shooting pain from my ankle up my leg that's new.
You need a mri or ct scan on your back asap if it is going numb. The extreme sensitivity can be from a pinched nerve in your back/leg. Do not mess around make sure you go to the dr. I have permanent nerve damage due to undiagnosed herniated disc. I let mine go for too long and now have permanent loss of feeling. If you can not get into a dr or er soon please take it easy with lifting moving and how you sleep so that you do not make matters worse in the mean time. Best of luck to you, Sissie
UPDATE: I just got up to use the restroom and my entire left leg went numb when I stood up with the exception of the bottom of my foot which was pins and needles.
