I dont have fatigue and i think i know why lol

Hi Guys and dolls,

For the last few weeks i've been feeling pretty good, though i could only pin point it to be because the level of fatigue i've been deeling with has changed. With out the fatigue, i dont know, it sort of feels like everything seems to be less of a problem. I'm noticibly not looking so weak, not as pale, walking better, overall i just look and feel like things have changed.

Oh i'm still loosing my words, getting confused, tremor, muscle spasms in the same spots, ribs tight and my stupid knees are hurting again, so its not like its ALL suddenly gone, i wish lol. No its just with out the fatigue, i feel more energetic and alive, that 3 hour window is more like 4-5 hours now, i'm thinking thats enough time to get out and about.lol

I've been trying to work out what it is that i am doing differently, well there isnt anthing at all that i am doing to explain why the fatigue has lifted. Though the one big difference is summer is over now and the cold weather is here, so i'm thinking thats got to be it. It makes sense that with out the heat, and its been a very hot summer, that i'm not feeling so bone weary. I've even noticed that my veins are not swelling up as much too, something that only started when summer arrived.

I so hope thats true because it feels pretty good to not be fighting the fatigue lol!

Cheers.......JJ

Interesting...  Here in Texas, our summer is just starting.  We've had a nice long winter and cold spring, so the heat is a little bit of a shock.  And yeah, I'm getting more fatigued.

It's weird because I used to be so warm-natured.  I got chilled easily, and would almost always rather be warm than cold.  Now if the temperature's 60° (15.5C) I'm happy.  I even think better when the weather's cooler.  Sometimes if it's really cold I barely notice the vertigo and fatigue problems.

If I'm having problems in the morning with fatigue, I'll run the shower cold and put my head under that.  It seems to clear away some of the cobwebs and gets me more energized.

Hey there,

Thats an interesting thought, This was my first winter with MS. Unfortunatley I was diagnosied during the hosttest and only week of fine weather Ireland had to offer last summer and spent it in the hospital. I still have all the other symtpoms that come and go with MS but I am less aware of them now, and less worried and anxious. Maybe that is me getting used to having a diagnosis of MS or maybe the fatigue has lifted making me feel better. I should keep a look out to see if symptoms are worse during warmer days etc. Thanks - a good tip.

Hey Mistylee,

I think i'm a low 20's kind of girl, anything higher or lower starts causing me problems. The heat wipes me out but for the last 3 or 4 years, the cold actually makes my tremor worse, funny but i always put the shaking down to being cold from my bones out. You should feel my hands and legs, they get so cold its not funny, i make people jump they get that cold lol.

I also get weaker hands, i get bad chillblaines, fingers twist a bit and get soar and knobly, though i dont have arthritis lol. 20 years or so ago i was told my immune system perceives a problem and ends up attacking healthy tissue and thats why i get such bad chillblaines. I've just amused my self, isnt that the exact same problem with MS?

I'll keep you company being as there are so few of us on this side of the world!

Cheers........JJ

Hi Supermum, I also am feeling less fatigue with the winter coming on as well. I still get very tired but like you , the extreme fatigue has lifted and I feel so much happier and motivated.

I really think the fatigue has a lot to do with how you feel. I can cope with the spasms , hug, tingling etc but the fatigue just totally wipes me out.  Roll on the cooler weather!!!

Just got to watch the spasticity now..LOL.

Glad your feeling brighter!!!!  Im so glad NZ isn't as hot as Australia in the summer ..lol
PHEW!!
