I like really like this quote from Grey's Anatomy. I have edited to take out a reference to being a surgeon; otherwise have kept it intact. I think it is fitting for anyone who feels they are losing control because of an illness.
This was esp meaningful in the early days of my dx when I had turned somewhat inward and was reluctant to reach out to my friends for support or even admit to them that I had MS.
“No one likes to lose control…. it's a sign of weakness, of not being up to the task. And still, there are times when it just gets away from you….no matter how hard you fight it, you fall, and it’s scary as h*ll. Except there's an upside to free falling: it's the chance you give your friends to catch you.”
