Hi Folks, I have noticed that when it is going to rain/raining,I get ALOT of pain! Has anyone experienced this and what it maybe/maybe the cause? I don't like to plug everything to MS unless I am sure.

Yes to the pain and weather. I don't have arthritis, but do have MS and I can predict the coming rain about 12 hours in advance with a huge increase in both nerve pain and muscle and joint pain. I am sure its due to MS and how barometric pressure changes can affect nerve impulses.

After the weather stabilizes, rain or sun, the pain goes down a lot and stablizes again until the next big weather change.

I will often get a migraine if it is going to rain or if we get a snow storm. Barometric pressure definitely seems to have a major effect on my migraines. Some other systems that I sometimes have are pain in my right ankle and knee or pain throughout my left side.

Thank you Ladies, because yes, I am thinking it is arthritis. Lol Carol, since I've started noticing this, I've been on point with the weather. The aches start and when I look outside, it is either raining or goin too. We're like weather prophets. I have to go see my neuro soon so I'd hear what he has to say.

Absolutely yes... It's funny because my kids will come to me or my husband to find out the weather forecast before looking it up...lol... My husband has RA and has always been able to predict the weather with pretty good accuracy...

I can tell you usually with pretty good accuracy if it's going to rain or if it's going to get cold... I'm not sure if the MS has anything to do with it but I also have RSD so it could be that...  I think it has something to do with the barometric pressure...

I'm interested in hearing what others say about this... Thanks for asking this...

Sounds to me like that could be arthritis, not sure if it is related to MS. You should contact your doctor and discuss it so they can get to the bottom of it for you. Good luck and keep us informed.
