come on, grab that left hand and one handed type! You can do it.................also Quix's suggestion of dragon speaks is fantastic........
I am so sorry for your continued and worsening of pain. I hope you can find an alternative such as the voice recognition.
I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering, but agree with everyone above! Try Dragon speak! I know the software is very helpful! I just hope the Docs wrong... remember they are wrong a lot of the time :)
If he's right though, remember this is not good-bye and not the end. You have options.
Sending you loads of hugs and love!
I have bad nerve pain going from my neck down into my arms and hands. I am an artist and could not hold a brush to paint. I got into a good pain clinic and after a year of trying different drugs my pain is way down. I just took up knitting. May be the pain clinic can help you.
Alex
Yeah, ditto to the above.
I got here late, but I was thinking the same thing: Dragon Speak software. I will transition to that too, when the time comes. It will keep you connected, and allow us to give you support. I'm sorry to hear of your progression though.
(((Hugs,)))
Tammy
Dear Sheila,
I was saying "no no no" just reading your heading, your news really su_cks big time but to also be cut off from the outside world, is no small thing either. I'm glad Lulu and Quix have mentioned Dragon speak, because that was the first thing running through my head, it definitely would be worth giving it a try!
Hugs...........JJ
I can't echo hard enough for you to try to use something like Dragon Naturally Speaking if you want t stay on the forum. I understand how horrible the prospect of losing your dominant hand must be and you might really want to withdraw from the world.
But, I happen to have an extra copy of Dragon that has not been loaded onto anyone's computer, so it hasn't been pirated. I bought it in 2010. I'll message you with the details.
Much love, Quix
Sheila I was just going to say what LuLu said. There are voice recognition programs out there when you wish to sign in and do an email to a friend, look something up...whatever it is (hopefully let us know how you're doing).
I'm sorry to hear of the news and although you seem to be handling this very well, I'm sure you have your moments. ((Hugs to you)).
I'm happy to hear you have such a compassionate doctor. What a relief to know this.
Take care and hopefully down the road, you'll let us know or someone know how you're doing.
Lisa
Sheila, please look into getting voice recognition software like Dragon Speak to allow you to remain connected to the outside world, even if that doesn't include your family here. I'm sorry the doctor gave such a bleak prognosis and can only hope he is wrong. Lots of gentle hugs to you, my friend.
Sheila,
I have not had the chance to know you being here new myself.
It makes me so sad even still as this monster takes more and more away from all of us.
I wish you well on your journey and hope you have many supportive people surrounding you in your life.
Candace
Hi Sheila, I am so sorry to hear about this latest turn of events, and I wish you all of the best in your next steps and I pray the next round of pain management provides some lasting relief.
