Hey Stan! (I don't think I was a registered user when you were around more, but I visited every day, so I certainly remember you).
Sorry you have such a daunting road ahead of you. I'm with you; too much time away from the computer would actually be of legitimate concern for me! But I'd do it too.
Chronic pain and disturbed sleep, much less long term loss of sleep, absolutely undercuts any sort of quality of life. So I'm hoping this surgery, even if it can't be filed under 'quick fix', is the solution you need it to be.
So sorry you've been dealing with this these many months. I will be thinking of you on the third. All my best.

Hey Stan,
Its really good to see you but the update doesn't sound good....... ouch! Not sure how i'd handle a computer-deximi, hmmmm i'm sure i'd have my collective computer geeks coming up with something or i'd go really really mental lol what about borrowing a tablet and clipping it to an iv pole or something?
Let us know how you get on!
Hugs........JJ
Good luck with the surgery.
Alex
I had my Cervical Fusion Neck Surgery, on September 3rd, and stayed in the hospital about 4 days. However, about the time I went home, my Wife (and Caregiver) went into the hospital with Pancreatitis, and was in the hospital for over a week. She is still dealing with stomach pain, etc.
Anyways, being mostly bedridden, it gave me time to focus on creating a Christian bases website. I have placed all my Christian based poems (103, so far) and many other things.
As far as my neck surgery, I'm ahead of schedule, according to my surgeon. When I saw him after 2 weeks, he told me I was ahead of schedule. Usually, after 2 weeks, the patient is still wearing a neck brace, and is sent home with a bag full of pills & pain medicine, etc. Where I was able to remove my neck brace (after 2 weeks) and have no medication to take. I was told it will take 3-6 months for the fusion to settle, and 6-12 months to fully heal. Therefore, I still have restrictions, on what I can lift (under 10 #), I'm not to turn my head (i.e. left to right, or visa versa, tilt my head, up & down, etc.). Think about it, when people ask you "yes or no" questions, answer them w/o moving your head. Also, if you are talking with someone, not turning your head, to look at them, w/o moving your entire body. Making sure you keep your head level, and just looking down, when needed (ex. looking straight ahead, yet looking down at your keyboard).
I pray all is well with each and every one of you, take care and God bless.
