Urinary incontinence

Anyone care to say what constitutes UI? After an episode recently, I'm interested.
I've always answered to when doc asks but wondering now if I've been lying unknowingly. I counted going 7 times today before midday and three times during night. And yesterday was taken by surprise enough that I ended up having to tie my sweater around waist as temporary hiding mechanism : (

Thanks for replies Lulu and Supermum! I confused everyone by missing out a word in my post!! What I meant was that whenever my primary or neuro has asked in the past if I have any issues with incontinence, when they're going over symptoms etc, I have always replied no, no incontinence. I always thought they meant having the floodgates open regularly, and i don't have that. But the incident a couple of days ago made me look into it a little, and now I think I should probably have been telling my primary and neuro about frequency. That's what meant when I said maybe I have been lying unknowingly - eg not recognizing symptoms of UI - eg frequency.

I have to admit to being rather confused by your comment of "I've always answered to when doc asks but wondering now if I've been lying unknowingly" i have no scope of reference of why you'd voice that thought. From my perspective, what you've mentioned is a problem that needs attention but if it's not happening as you've mentioned, then I can't see that there would be any long term benefit to you.

All I can think to advice is to take a step back for a moment, and honestly ask your self if you are lying or exaggerating, because you really do know the answer.

Cheers............JJ

It sounds like you could use a referral to a urologist and have a seriouscuabout ways that might be used to control this urgency/frequency. Trust me, it will only get worse until you seek treatment.  You could have a UTI causing this problem, too.  So please go see the doctor.

Seven times before noon is way too many and so is the up three times at night.
