Thank u double v
Been ages I need to get back to helping ppl out on here. Been thru so much I need to use it to help others.
I have so many probs that don't show lesions on my MRIs n in 4 yrs they haven't changed. So hard to get past judging this disease by MRIs.
I know they are not an exact science, but some days I wish they could just say...oh yeah this prob is from this lesion etc.
I think my voice, hearing, and driving are my biggest fears from MS. This last flare (after solumed) has seemed to be settled as far as all that was happening except my voice is still gone.
I guess I have to keep up my same old attitude...I'm not dead. I still get to raise my kid. I am thankful for that.
In MS, hoarse voice can be caused by lesions on the 10th cranial nerve, aka the vagus nerve, which innervates the larynx. So not muscle fatigue, but rather, disrupted nerve signals to the muscles controlling the voice. Lesions in this area can also cause difficulty in swallowing. I do have this problem - both hoarse voice and swallowing trouble - from time to time, especially when very fatigued.
