What is UP on the expert forum

I haven't been over there for awhile because, well, what's the point?--but I just looked over there, and there are a TON of unanswered questions, and the *expert* hasn't even answered anything since April 7 or something? And then the previous batch, he "answered" on Mar 23. I hope those folks with the unanswered questions didn't actually fork over 25 bucks for that privilege. I wonder, can "they" tell if a question is paid or free?

Anyway...not much use, that forum, in my opinion.

Every page in MedHelp has a "Contact us" at the very bottom.  I encourage all of you that are upset by any part of this situation to contact them and say so.  I suspect they are tired of hearing from me.

I posted a question on here that was for the Doc by mistake and told everyone not to worry about replying as it was a mistake and I would post it on th eexpert forum. Well it took me 2 day sto get it on there for free - but I have still had no reply either.

I am glad I did not pay - I was just curious to see what his opinion was about possible post operative issues and MS but I have to be honest I learn much, much more from Quix and you guys than from him!

wonder if those forum experts work for the same national health care system i go to?

there is superior help, more mindful empathy, more thought provoking answers, more compassion, more humor, more scientific links, etc on this forum --- so why pay for no help on the other forum?

The answers in general do not even address the questions. How does that make people feel, I wonder? Oh, that's right. Like no one's listening to them--or reading what they're actually asking.

The thing is, not just quantity is missing. How many are satisfied with the quality of the answers they do get? Of course no one can expect a treatise, but an attempt to address the various issues raised by the post would be helpful, as would answers that don't hedge.

Is it piracy to take over a forum if it obviously has been left vacant and abandoned?  The laws of the high seas may very well be on her side!

I hope everyone will give MedHelp the benefit of the doubt and give them some time to work through these issues - I'm sure it is a sticky wicket for them too.

Anyone who has forked over $25 and gotten no response should go to the MedHelp home page, look at the bottom and find the Contact MedHelp link. Use that to send a complaint. From what I understand, this works.

Looks like Quix has taken the bull by the horns and started answering an assortment of posts there. Some of her comments about getting responses positively drip with irony.

Skarey, I'm so sorry that you wasted your money like that and have not received a response. That is really unconscionable. People are paying money and asking questions because they are finding things are wrong with them and they are hoping for a "real" doctor to help them. And what happens? Little to literally NO help at all. Someone needs to send you your money back.

Okay... I'm one of "those" that dished over the 25.00 to post a question on the MS forum.  It still hasn't been answered!  I was trying to find a contact to let them know but can't find one.  Very irritated!  If someone can figure this out please let me know!

Hi All,

If your talking about the So called "MS Expert" DR.K  Don't expect much, don't get much. as essdipity said. I posted on another thread about him but the post was removed...

I am fortunate I am still on here.  I went off on him this is part of it, maybe it will stay up here.   Dr.Kantor is very well schooled "he has many degrees from great places of higher learning" unfortunately for people that see him that doesn't mean squat in the real world.  I saw him in 2006.

I better stop now before I go off again....breath...breath..

Peace....

JJFL.

I am debating going over and giving my answers there or inviting them over here.  I did answer one of Syringles' questions because I think she asked it here, and I didn't give her an answer.

I try to avoid reading over there because of the frustrastion.  Yes, MH is aware both from Lu and from me.  We can't have worried people going unanswered.  That is why we work so hard over here.

Sheeesh!!

It seems that 2 or 3 get answers every 10 days or so. Not a good sign. And since nearly all get only very brief responses or none at all, it's lost its relevancy with me. Don't expect much, don't get much.

I have looked over there & thought just as you have - I hope those people didn't pay...seems like if the doctor wasn't available to answer questions - they would post something...

Bio, I have relayed your question on to the MedHelp folks - will keep you posted if there is a response.

I'm not sure how these experts really function here - I referred a member over to the PAD expert, and she was told it was $$$$ to ask a question - no freebies there.

And then you have dear Dr. Park with the sleep disorders forum who will answer any and all questions for absolutely nothing from us.

I can't figure it out either!

I've popped over there a couple of times, but it always looked to me like the questions were being answered by a robot with a search engine.

CLs, does MedHelp have a handle on this, do you know?
