Worried I could have MS

Hello
I am wondering if anyone could help me please. I am a 24 year old female. For the past 2 months I have been getting pins and needles. I always have them in my hands and feet, but also get them in my side, in/up my nose, up my head as well as pulsations in my legs. Recently my legs have been feeling weak (for example today  i rode my bike and my legs almost gave way when I got off- I hadn't been riding for very long at all).
I am so tired recently as well. Feel like I have no energy to keep going.
I am going to have an MRI soon but need some advice on how to cope with these symptoms. I have just started a masters course so it is all a bit much to cope with!
the doc is checking I don't have MS- my mother has MS so I am really hoping I don't have it as it would upset her so much. I haven't dared tell her they are checking to see if I have it.
just wondered if anyone knew if these symptoms sound like MS and anyone who has pins and needles with pulsations that last all day- if you have any coping strategies that would be great!

WW-

It's fine for him to tell you that your symptoms are the result of an inflamed nerve. Now he has to tell you WHY it's inflamed :-)

As Sarah said, you MRI should provide more info.

Thank you :)

Yeah I feel like the bike thing could just be because I am not used to it. But you know what it's like when you are told you have a problem and then you relate everything to that!
I guess I am just worried because my GP said it didn't look like MS but the neurologist wasn't convinced. I don't like the fact he said he thinks it is an inflammed nerve as that is so general. But I will hang tight until I find out more,

Thanks for your comment.

welcome to our corner.  MS does not normal start with BOTH sides of the body, it seems to pick one.

I will tell you from experience, that riding a bike when you have not done so for a very long time will give you exactly what you got.  It's upset with you!  When I was in Denver for 6 months, they have beautiful bike trails and I had gotten a new bike, not having ridden in many years and almost fell on my face when I got off!.

Be patient and wait for your MRI to come back, sounds like your doc is checking good, there are many tests that have to be done, blood wise to rule out mimic diseases and last time I read, passing MS to offspring was a very low %, like 1 or 2% but don't remember where I read it.

Hang in there……..
