I really don't recommend that anyone try to interpret their MRIs nor ask anyone else to do it. Neuroanatomy is incredibly complex and neuroradiologist spend years learning to master neuroimaging. Even if you were to find something you have to "scroll" both ways through it is see if it is a standalone lesion, a blood vessel or even a part of a larger hyperintense structure like the cortex.
Then you have to identify it on another plane of view to see if it is real and not an artifact (signal noise).
I realize that the desire to look at the films and see if we can read them is overwhelming, but it is really a waste of time - unless you have other images with known lesions on them and you are trying to compare. Even that is hard if it was done on a different machine.
Have fun looking, but you'll not likely get anyone to be able to say anything about them unless we get a neurorad landing here. Even then, they would not likely be willing to comment unless they had the entire scan for eval.
Quix (in disguise until they figure out my password)
Same here. Once you read the radiologist's report saying "there is a small area of hyperintensity at C3-C4 interspace" or some such, you can look and look, and maybe make it out. On the other hand, you'll look at something that seems to be a light bulb stuck in there, and it won't be mentioned, because it isn't anything. I guess that's why those guys get the big bucks. Of course, they'll also tell you if your bones and discs are where they belong, and whether or not anything is pressing on your spinal cord, in addition to any lesions they might find.
Waiting is hard and horrible, but at least they usually read these things quickly. You might be able to request a report Monday, and they'll even fax it to you if you have a machine handy. Good luck.

I got the impression somewhere that spinal MRIs were more prone to artifacts (technical glitches that look like something when there's not really anything there) so it might be worse for all of our uninformed eyes to start looking at the images than not.
I hope you get the report or the neuro tells you what's going on soon.

I don't know anything about looking at the pics either.you would have laughed at me trying to find the lesion on my brain CD! Talk about being lost! Have you read or have a copy of the Radiologists' report? Probably those here might be able to interpet that better for you.
I too am astounded by the picture of you. I hope you had it enlarged, framed, and on the wall. You are beautiful, and your spirit shows thru. I can't believe you have such beautiful daughters, that are as old as they are. You did good girl.
Hugs & Prayers, Maggie
Thankyou guys i really appreciate you looking anyway,,,
HEY didn't hurt to ask did it???
Holly, wow thank you so much for the compliment. You are so sweet I really NEEDED to hear that today
Hugs and Prayers

I can't see any pictures, either, except the one that goes with all your posts. My gosh, I'd never looked at it enlarged before. I thought it was an impressionist painting that you particularly liked, pretty lady in a scarf looking at the ocean, thinking deep thoughts. You're the pretty lady! It's a marvelous picture.
Holly
I can't even find the photos under your profile. I'm not getting a link.

The spinal cord is not shown in these two pictures. There is nothing there that I can see that would point to any lesions as in MS, wihout viewing the spinal cord. As Z said, it takes years for the radiologist to read MRI's, I couldn't possibly decifer it with my skills, which are none. What does the radiologist report say?
Heather
I looked since you asked twice. I just DON'T know how to look at those things. Sorry. Like Quix says, radiologists go to school a long time to know how to read those....Nothing jumps out, if that's what you're asking.
Good luck. Maybe someone else will know better than I.
Feel well,
Zilla*
I'm just asking for an opinion,,, k?
I know you cant dx anything,, just tell me what you see? If anything, lol
