Can vertigo come from spinal lesions?

Yup, that's it. For once I'm keeping it short!

Vertigo and dizziness can be caused be caused by brainstem lesions. Audio evoked potential tests are sometimes used to check for those.

To the best of my knowlege, no. Most vertigo comes from ear problems, thus not CNS. Some IS from lesions in the cerebellum, and it may take quite a specialist to figure out which is which. There are good tests for this, however. The We Move web site has a lot of excellent info on vertigo. All of this, of course, is from head issues, not spine.
