Peripheral Foggy Vision

What is the medical terminology for this type of experience?  I don't know since I've never had eye problems before since March 17th with the blurred and double vision episode, then had a fleeting moment with lightening in my right periphery (didn't last) and now this foggy vision surrounding my central vision.  My boyfriend was "clear" and great clarity but surrounding him was foggy, cloudy, misty or whatever you want to call it.

So anyone have a clue or experienced this?

Lisa

Hey Lisa, I wish I knew the answers for you, but unfortunately I don't. I have had so many problems with my eyes since my Thyroid Eye Disease, some of those problems were, dry eyes, itchy, watery, double vision, and proptosis.
A couple years ago, I had some sort of tunneling vision, I could see in front of me but everything around that central vision was sparkly, and faded out (blackened) and then white, It was very weird, but when I told my neuro. about it, he said to me that it was a possible seizure. It lasted for less than a minute.
Hopefully someone can help you with this, I probably wasn't much help, but hey you never know.

Big Hugs,
Pam

Hmm, I just went to a Neuro-ophthalmologist and he said "no cataracts" "no glaucoma" "pink optic disc" "20/20" vision (although I know that's not true heh the 20/20 at least).

It was out of my periphery and it only lasted approximately 30 to 45 seconds.

This was my first experience with this, so I was taken back for the moment.

Thanks Miss Laural for answering me!!!

Lisa i had this not too long ago. It came on rather suddenly. It was like I was looking through wax paper. I discovered I had a very fast growing form of cataracts. They can be in your peripheral or central vision.

At the same time I also had a sudden bout of double vision when I look to the right. (This has not gone away). The cataract in my right eye was taken out 2 weeks ago and the left is coming up in June. You may want to check into this especially if you have taken steroids as cataracts can be a side effect of long term steroid treatment.

The good news if it is cataracts it is very treatable.
