Hey Leon,

What Kyle said is right on. If the nuerologist you see doesn't suggest any of these things, get a second opinion.

Best,

Tom

Hi Leon - If you are trying to rule MS in or out, there are some specific things that can/should expect.

Your neurologist should conduct a thorough clinical examination. This includes walking, talking, eye tracking (not vision), strength, reflexes etc.

There are many, many MS mimics, like Lyme disease. Many of them can be ruled in or out via blood test.

There should be discussion of MRI's of your brain and c-spine, both done with and without contrast.

There should be some discussion of lumbar puncture (LP).

There may also be a discussion of evoked potential tests.

These are the basic tools for diagnosing MS.

Hope this helps,
Kyle

Hello Leon,

I am really sorry that you are having the problems that you are.....

Unfortunately, there is nothing that anyone here can do to tell you if you have MS or not. The things that you are describing sound like symptoms of MS but they could also be many other things. You are doing the right thing by going to a nuerologist. They will be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

Best,

Tom
