Another New Year, Another Flare

I celebrated the new year with a UTI, and a flare!  Grrrr!  I had just finished a round of antibiotics for a bad tooth, when the UTI reared it's ugly head. Different bug, so, a new and different abx to treat it.  Too late. My symptoms all magnified, and getting through a day of work was monumental.  I guess it was all a matter of time before I flared.  My last Tysabri infusion was on 11/2/13, and it took my new neuro and new infusion site two months to get their stuff together.  The day before yesterday (1/8), I finally got a Tysabri infusion - Halleluiah!!!  Hopefully, this flare will subside soon.  I'm not one to go for IVSM unless I absolutely have to.

Using a stick full time, now, but still up for a bike ride as soon as this flare settles down.  Anyone wanna ride?

Happy New Year, huh???    well, we are way to much alike.  I am going through the same thing as you, but, I was lucky !!!  this time to be able to do the oral med's instead of the IV's........ have 9 infections since July last year, so, I am so sorry , and I totally understand.  I am on on Tysabri, but am on Avonex...... hope your infusion helps with your flare..

Sorry you're having a rough go of it, and hoping you feel better soon! My hubby has been I'll lately, too.

Hubby is on Betaseron, that's what he was originally placed on at time of diagnosis..coming up on 3 years. I haven't read much about Tysabri, so it's been interesting to find out how it is working for people.

My husband also has Addison's, a severe case of it, which makes it hard for us to know if he is having an MS flare, or an Adrenal Crisis. I pray one day all of us with auto immune diseases won't have to suffer from them!

That bike ride sounds great, and I hope you're feeling up to taking it soon!

I was in my Neuro's office on Xmas eve so I guess MS isn't fussy about it's timing. So sorry you have flared especially at the beginning of a new year. I've got to wonder if missing your Tysabri caused a flare other than than UTI of course.
