nausea help

Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone has found a way to deal with the nausea.  I have had it as bad as when I was PG (NO I AM NOT PG NOW  :) & it won't go away.  I know I needed to lose weight but this is not fun.  NOthing sounds good & I feel like I am going to puke all the time - thank goodness I have not yet.

Any help is appreciated.  I hate to run myself so far down because I feel sick all the time.

What an awful thing to deal with!  Ginger is supposed to help with nausea.  You can get a tea at the health food store. Here is another situation where medical marijuana would be useful.

I also use the Saltines with ginger ale.  Is this caused by a medication?  Either way, if this is a constant problem, you do need to call the doctor.  Do you have any fever or pain with it?  If so, you need to call doc as soon as possible.
Also, there are a lot of great anti-naseau meds out there (prescription).  If not, OTC Pepto-bismo also can work, but be careful - can constipate you.
Another one I just remembered is Benadry.  Though this is an antihistamine, I find this helps me sleep and helps with nauseu.  It is a safe medication too.  It will make you a bit sleepy.
Good luck

Hey there,
This is a great list! The crackers are the best idea for me, and I often lay down a few minutes to keep my food down. I would suggest trying all of the above, and then talking to your doc. about your nausea, if you are dx'd it could be a new symptom such as gastroparesis that can be caught by a scan... if you aren't dx'd it could be another clue to the puzzle. You don't need to deal with this much nausea... my last resort would be to see if they don't have something for nausea that you could take on the worst days.

I have gastroparesis (something killed my stomach nerve), so I deal with nausea, some months a LOT worse than others. Right now, it's after every meal I'm heaving. I personally don't take nausea meds... just try to handle it.

Hope you find some relief!!

A couple of things that I have found to help are as follows:

1-warmed up coke.  It helps the most when it is warm and flat.  Flat is better than carbonated.

2-Sipping sprite.  This sometimes helps if coke doesn't

3-My mother in law says that ginger ale helps her a lot.

4-Occasionally, now this is weird, I have found that something cold and basic helps.  Don't know why.

5- Warm bath or a heat pad on your stomach.  Also try to avoid reading.  Sleep and relax as much as possible.

6- Plain toast or toast with just butter.  Of course saltine crackers can help.

If it makes you feel better I have had a lot of nausea lately, but I am hoping it is because of the reason yours isn't.  Take care and get feeling better.
