shaking eyes

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could enlighten me on yet another wierd and wonderful symptom. I have not yet reported this one to a doctor but wondered if anyone can relate and if you think I should add this to my ever growing list of symptoms.

I used to experience this occasionally and only when reading. But now it has become more frequent and happens when driving, watching tv, reading, etc. My eyes seem to quickly shake right to left before settling again, it is hard to describe, it happens quick as a flash but is happening a lot more frequently now than ever before, it has been with me for a long time and I used to just ignore it but with it becoming more frequent it has got me a little concerned, I do wear glasses and have recently been tested and my prescription up dated. I didn't mention this to the optician at the time. Just wondered if I should seek medical advice and please let me know if anyone else has this. I don't think it is anything serious, it isn't painful and like I said it is very quick, but a little disturbing.

Thank you once again for your time and I hope you all had a lovely christmas, all the best for 2012.

I would recommend seeing an opthalmologist rather than an optician.I would seek medical advice especially in light of the fact that you are experiencing other neurological symptoms.

You probably should consider seeing a new neuro if this doctor isn't listening to you about your other symptoms.

I to have heavy arms.  This is a common symptom in MS.  So is the shaky eyes.

No I haven't been diagnosed.

I have loads of symptoms all of which seem to fit a neurological disorder of some kind but unfortunately my neuro seem to concentrate on headaches and wasn't interested in my other symptoms.

My most recent symptom seems to be tired arms. As though I have been using them for weightlifting or something when all I am doing is making a cup of tea, ot typing, hardly using them really. My next appointment with the neuro is over the phone talking to a nurse and then she will decide wether I should see him again. I may need to go back to my gp and be referred again.

i too have had his happen to me. I was drawing this last time and my eyes shifted back and forth and then all fine.

I thought Nystagmus was a constant thing.

I have not mentioned this to my dr yet as I would have a real hard time proving it.

Some stuff just never happens when you need it too! lol

Are you dx'd?

I had this during the worst of this last year. It's nystagmus. I had a lack of coordination between my eyes (they would flutter back and forth when trying to find something) as well as I could see very small "tremors" at times during one of my flares.
