MRIs do not show "lesions." MRIs show "increased signal, decreased signal, hyperintensities and hypointensities." Doctors then decide that a T2 hyperintensity is a demyelinating lesion. They can also determine that a T1 post GAD hyperintensity is an intra-cranial bleed or an active demyelinaing lesion. You really can not tell anything from an MRI alone. It is "data out of context." It has to me evaluated with the history, physical exams and other signs and lab studies.
A C1 T2 signal increase could be a demyleinating lesion (Lyme's, MS, etc.) or it could be a syrinx or anther pathology.

Maybe Lyme Disease? I was diagnosed with MS 5 years ago and I am just learning that LD is a mimic. It can even cause lesions on MRIs. Good luck:)
