still sick with the flu for 4 weeks!!! help!!

PLEASE help!! i have had the flu now for about 4 weeks now and still fill like a truck has hit me head on!!! please give some kind of insight as to what might be going on with me!! i still have a lotr of junk in my chest. couthing and a lot of flim coming up. i have no energy. i have been sleeping sitting up for 4 weeks now. low grade fever and just fill like ****!!!! can you help???????????????

Hi, You sound just miserable.  I agree with Sara.  You have more than the flu.  The flu (influenza) itself only lasts 10 to 14 days, but you may have developed a pneumonia on top of it.  OR it was the flu but was another infection which likely has a severe bronchitis or pneumonia with it - like walking pneumonia.

After a month of bringing up phlegm, you need to see a doctor and probably have a chest X-ray.  Please be evaluated!

You are on an MS Forum.  Do you have MS also?  If so, you are welcome to stay and be a part, but get seen by a doctor!  'Kay??

just wanted to let you know that a woman in my office had the flu off and on for a month and it turned out to be pneumonia. she's fine now. have you been to the dr?
