Vertigo

Hi all:
First I will mention I am a limbo-lander who has had several espisodes putting me on the watch list for MS.   Things had evened out (other than spasticity in the legs which seems to be ongoing) when I had two short bouts of vertigo (sitting at my desk and driving in a car).  Then last night I woke up and - lying down - everything was spinning. Woke up this morning and everything is still spinning - to the point where I threw up on the 20min drive to work (I wasn't driving so no worries :)

I looked up the definiton between dizziness and vertigo and this is definitly vertigo.

My neuro said to call if there are new symptoms but I don't want to be running to the neuro every time something happens - in your opinion is this something that I should just write down for future reference or is it phone-call worthy?

Cutie

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. I'am currently on that same road with you and have been off and on for the last 16 years. I would definitely mention this to your Doctor if your vertigo is caused by bbpv then he can refer you to a physical therapist who knows how to do the epley manuver which will reposition the crystals that have been dislodged in your ear canal and are bouncing around in there making you miserable. I hope this helps. Good luck to you and I hope they can help you.

Hi Cutie,

Sure. Definitely call. And, don't feel bad about it either. That's why you have a doc, and it's important most times to be checked while you have the problem. Otherwise, you'll be sitting there on your follow-up just mentioning that it happened, and how long it lasted.

Tell the office you woke up to it (describe the symptoms instead of the name), and you'd like to know what you can do about it because you have to work, etc., and it's making you sick to your stomach.

So sorry you have to deal with it - it's so horrible.
