not a question

I found out yesterday that there has been a decision on my disability, but it was mailed to me and i have to wait til i receive it.  But it was mailed out supposedly on the 29th, i should have had it by now..they said to call today if I don't get it............

I am totally on pins and needles waiting...maybe today.

Wonder if this means its a yes or no ?

nervously yours, meg

Hey Bob, no prob.  Get me started on religion or politics sometime!

Seriously, we all have our struggles.  For some of us it's what someone else is getting.  For others, it's what we think they're getting.  In the immortal words of Hank Williams, "No matter how you struggle and strive, you'll never get out of this wold alive."  Of course, he recorded those words a few weeks before he died, at the age of 29.

I was an Electronics Engineer for 22 years before i went on disability. My company insurance pays me $658.00 and social security pays $1812.00 per month. I sorry I've opened up a can of worms. I guess you don't disguss religion, politics or social security benefits. Forgive me!

Meg I am will PastorDan I thought you were in your fifties.  If that is a recent pic then you have good genes :o)

Bob368, I live in KY also.  My mom has insurance through UMWA and Medicare.  UMWA stayed her primary insurance.  I love my country but I don't think the government wants to pick up anymore than they have too.

Lately my mail is mostly bills or junk.  Well, what do I mean by "lately"?  It's always been that way.

Meg, if it means anything, I'd have never guessed you are 65.  Congrats & best wishes on the moral victory.

Bob368, from what career are you drawing disability, and is it through Social Security, or a private plan?  That $2470 is rather enviable, I'm afraid.  My late wife was getting significantly less than that.  Truthfully, I am working full-time, and my take-home pay is about that much.

Meg,

I hope that your mail man doesn't keep you waiting. Monday is a holiday so I will cross my fingers that you get your letter in tomorrow's mail. Sometimes I would swear that if they want to get out early they leave some of the mail until the next day.

Congrats & let us know when it comes - it hurts to cross your fingers for too long, lol.

Hugs,
Erin :)

Once you receive your "Fully Favorable" letter, a few weeks later you will get your medicare card. Even if you already have insurance. Medicare automatically, (if you want it or not) becomes your primary insurance. The insurance you had is now secondary. I received my letter and now get $2470.00 a month. I guess it was more than just a moral victory.

Terry's take on this is a totally different perspective on that $$$ - congrats on getting approved.  Take it as a moral victory if nothing else.

Doesn't the $40.00 dollars a month come with health care?  Even if you have a primary ins.  the medicare/medicaid will pick up the difference.   That is another victory.

Congrats, terry

Still no letter , but since since I was approved on July 28th they could give me the information on the phone.

As i said, i was approved, a small victory however.  I always thought that it would not be worth all the headaches I got  applying for it.  I that i will get is $40.00 a month.

But it is something....
