I spoke to an MS physiatrist at a event last night. He said that drug companies are actually trying to develop therapies to replace myelin- but that's a ways down the road. He also said that targeted physical therapy may be helpful. He recommended having someone who specializes in MS look after your therapy.--That's what I hope to be trying soon.

A good pain clinic changed my life. I am now walking better because it was the pain holding me back more than anything. I got on the right drugs for me instead of the doctors adding more and more. I am not all better but my life is much improved from six months ago.

I've found that the PBS Qi Gong with Lee Holden helps when I'm having a hard time walking. I do it at my own speed and only as much as I feel capable of, but it's very gentle when I don't feel I can do anything else. I find the beginner tape very relaxing and so far haven't moved on to anything else in the series. I bought it out of frustration and was glad I did. Just thought I'd share! Hope you feel better soon!!

Have you had a consult with physical therapy? They can improve your gait thereby decreasing your workload and hopefully increasing your walking speed.
Also, Amprya has been released to improve with MS walking. Has anyone discussed this with you yet?
I hope you have better days ahead of you and hopefully pt and/or Amprya can help you.

Hi Julcar,
The Will Shakespeare once said 'Tis neither good nor bad, but thinking makes it so'
So I choose to believe that your walking will get better!
I would suggest trying to gently exercise each day. Take it very slowly, even 2 minutes if that is all you can stand. You could use an exercise bike, swimming pool, or walking through a beautiful park. Don't overdo it but do it whether you feel good or bad and try to build up to half an hour a day.
I can't guarantee that this will work but I can guarantee that doing nothing and dwelling on your inability to walk will most certainly speed the progress of your decline.
I believe in the power of diet, exercise, meditation, sunlight and seeking the assistance of counsellors whenever I feel overwhelmed as the keys to stemming the progress of this degenerative disease called MS.
Best of luck
Blessings
Alex
