I do know somebody that named their parrot 'Dog.' Unusual child.
Just a cyber dog right now, but am going to post a blog in a bit, and as will have more time to spare for a while just might get myself a real one. It would likely be a heffalump dog, can't be chasing after little ones, may lose them in my messy flat. So to be clear we're naming the little obedient spaniel by my name.
Brilliant suggestions so far. But very silly. Lulu you nearly made me wet myself laughing - am not calling her Continence! been giggling all day.
Quix, what can I say, naming my dog after a cat? She'll get teased by the other cyber dogs. You know what they're like about cats, so Peabody (nearly moved into a peabody house once, they're big landlords in parts of the Uk) is not quite right for a sensitive canine, and Lulu did shorten it to Pea. I'm just worried what you named your kids lool?
Kathy, behave! Show a littlle British reserve madam.
Others, thinking on them, need more ideas. Debs you didn't really cheat on the polls, you just voted! Medhelp has not quite got the polls thing set up right yet, it looked like people could list names and vote.
Going to blog now. Love this thread, it's got me giggling all day. Keep 'em coming! The sillier the better. Vote Friday?

We called our dog 'Speak!' just to be funny. But it was a close tie between 'Speak' and 'Itsa' (first name Itsa, last name Dog.)
What kind of dog is it? Is it a cutesy-wootsy little bitty doggie? Or a big heffalumping gallumph of a dog?
Forgive me if this question is stupid, but have you posted a picture of your puppy dog yet? Or what kind is it? Maybe seeing a picture of her, would give us a better idea what name might fit her.
Hugs,
Heather
What about "Spook"? Didn't you find him on Halloween?

OK, if we want to get really crass, name her Titswiggle. "has anyone seen my Titswiggle?" (honestly, when I was a grocery checker a customer told me that one; the punchline was the courtesy clerk said "no, ma'am, but I'd sure like to!)
I had a dear sweet dog once, and I named her Galadriel, after the character in the Tolkein books. Good heavens, it's been so long, I've forgetten how it's spelled.
Ooooh, Lulu's losing it! But, it would spur a lot of conversation. If someone was horrified you could always say, "Oh, I meant Constance!"
My favorite cat ever was named Peabody.

how about an ms name, such as continence. Every time you wanted the dog to come inside, you could call out loudly for all the neighbors to hear "In Continence, come IN continence!" You could nickname her Pea.
I was thinking Quix's Peabody as in the way, way back machine Peabody! Couldn't we have fun with a time travel machine of our own? Of course only a few of us are old enough to remember Rocky and Bullwinkle. -lulu
My vote is "Sunny" or "Sunnie" - to bring a ray of sunshine into your life!
I rigged the poll by actually voting, I see! I was the 1 person who voted for Bella who made the percentage 100%! Peabody does sound more British . . .

looking for lots of names. Pressed the option for lots of choices on the poll, then it said I had to choose two to start, then it only posted these two. So more names is what I wanted. Not sure I want to insult my dog though, the last one ran away!
Have to be up for work in about 6 hours, and haven't had my luxury bath yet. Maybe should log off....

If those are the only names you have, I'll vote.
But if you're looking for more suggestions, how about:

Ms. Cyka MS B I T.........
The asterisked word was b i t c h by the way
