BFS/ALS/What is this?

I began twitching suddenly in my feet and legs on June 7th of this year, it's gotten progressively worse. It was only in my legs, and has now moved to my arms.
My neurologist, head of ALS/MND center in OKC visited with me two weeks after twitching and all my reflexes, strength tests were fine. On July 16th, almost 6 weeks after muscle twitching started, he performed EMG on legs only and said it was all clear. Since then it has spread to my arms, head, eye, etc. Is one EMG enough? Is 6 weeks from onset enough time for an EMG to give a clear picture? And is six spots on the leg (5 on one leg, 1 on the other) enough to get a good idea of what is going on? So far he believes it is benign with no follow up scheduled. I'm feeling really scared because I also have rhythmic finger jerking and shakiness. Any insight would be delightful!

This discussion is related to ALS or something similar?.

I doubt if this is any ALS IF you are not experiencing muscle weakness and/or atrophy.

I have never seen 5 electrodes placed on one leg and 1 electrode placed on another for an EMG.  Did you have a NCS too?  Any recent labs (thyroid panel, b12 level, vitamin d levels)?

Any possibility of exposure to ticks; Lyme's?
