Bullet in the occipital lobe

A relative of mine was shot 20 years ago in the occipital lobe. Only part of the bullet was removed as it was thought to be an unnecessary risk to remove the remaining part; the specialists assured that the remaining piece would not cause any damage.

Although, till that day, there hasn't been any effect clearly linked to that incident, I am concerned that the remaining piece, would in the future cause some damage, I'm also concerned about the lead exposure from the bullet.

Any advice or thoughts would be immensely appreciated.

Hi,
Look at my post on this forum on page 2.
I have a bullet lodged in my brain for many years and suffer from daily dizziness, light headed problems and massive headaches.
The bullet I have looks to be on my optical nerve.
I was told that it would not cause me any problems but they were very wrong.
Thanks.
