Good evening!
I have a relatively quick question to ask that I am unable to find online. My mother gets frequent migraines that are intense enough to keep her in bed all day. They did two MRI's. The first showed 10 lesions somewhere on the brain (I'm sorry I don't know where specifically). Three months later the MRI showed two more lesions. On top of that they found 2 more lesions on her neck (cervical spine). They did a spinal tap and deduced that it wasn't MS. They also ruled out meningitis, Lyme disease, and a lot of other things. Is it possible that this is carbon monoxide poisoning? I ask this because for the last 36 years she has been married to a heavy smoker, living in a very old house that is heated solely by woodstove, and I would not be surprised if there is a CO leak in the house from the hot water heater. This has been going on for two years now and has gotten noticeably worse within the last year. Coincidentally she has spent many months out of this past year living in a big truck (my dad is a truck driver) and they found a CO leak from the generator on the truck that would leak into the sleeper/cab. Also my mother is 56 years old. She is currently taking a low dose of gabapentin.
Thank you for any help you can give me!
