numbness tingling muscle twitching

hello,
I am 41 years old nurse and  i have been working in a major ER for 16 years,a couple of month ago I started feeling constant  coldness in both feet which passed only when I was asleep,I didnt pay it a lot of attention,until a couple of weeks ago when I stopped smoking using NRT patches  and two days afterwards I started experiencing all kinds of weird sensations like numbness  and tingling all over my body mainly the left side, muscle twitching in my left calf on and off,and a bizzare feeling like constant shaking of my left side.
I was obssesed  that these symptoms are of multiple sclerosis  and am fixed on it and the thought of it wont leave me, I went to a neurology specialist who said that my neurolgical exam was fine,I even had an EMG and NCT which were normal,but this muscle twitching, nubmness and cold freezing feet wont leave me alone,please help am on benzodiazepines for two weeks and its the only thing that helps but i dont want to get addicted to it.

Sorry to ask so many questions, but was your Mg level off or did you just start taking Mg because of the symptoms?  

I think I would request an MRI brain/head with CONTRAST from your PCP or Neurologist if not already done.  I am not saying you have MS, but it would have to be ruled out by more than just a Neuro exam, ECG and and NCT.

Any history of back injury while on the job?  

I would not worry so much about getting "addicted" to the benzos; if they are helping you to get through this until this is sorted, take them.  What are you on: Ativan, Xanax?

All lab tests were normal :CBC,THYROID PANEL,FOLIC ACID,B12,FULL CHEMISTRY STUDIES.
I"ve been taking magnesium supplement but it doesnt seem to help.

Any recent labs done? (i.e. thyroid panel,cbc, bmp)
