Fasciculations and leg stiffness following microscectomy for foot drop?

After acute back pain I developed right leg foot drop. I went to a neurologist who did a emg on the affected leg. I also obtained a MRI. The MRI showed a L4/5 nerve root compression and severe spinal stenosis. The emg showed L5 nerve damage. The other muscle groups inner gated by other nerves were normal. I had a lumbar microscectomy to remove disc from spinal column and nerve. A month later I have fasciculations and stiffness in both legs. Should I be concerned about ALS etc?
