I also am starting to experience this, I never had this problem until a week ago. I went to the hospital they ran test even did it for lime disease and everything came bk negative I’m so scared I don’t know what is wrong
I have also been having these symptoms for quite some time. I finally was referred to someone after noticing I had more symptoms when I was using my laptop. She was able to screen me for EMF radiation and I have been doing monumentally better with EMF blockers on my cell phone and computer. Might be something to look into
Same with me! I feel like someone has dipped my whole body in an icy hot bath. This is miserable and no one will help.
I, too, have for the past one year had a sunburn/hot/icy sensation on my upper back, neck and especially head. From the time I awake to when I go to sleep...My head gets to hot..like a flare up...just like you described...BenGay x's 10...and have to find something cool to put on head. I also have the sensation that my back is wet and shirt is wet....I automatically feel w/my hand and there is nothing...dry!! Some times it feels like prespiration is dripping down side of head, again I feel...nothing. This is really driving me nuts and I have fatigue because I have to cope all day long with this. I do sleep pretty good at night. Dave r tried me on Prednisone for 2 weeks..no help. I have read on this post it might be hormones...but I did try 2 months of replacements and it didn't make a difference. I keep searching the internet webs for info...like this one....NO one has an answer. I don't even know what doctor to go to.... Good Luck, thanks for your share.

Hi to all,
I'm a 37 y.o. male who has been experiencing this icy hot sensation for about 5 months now. It started with a bout of dizziness and a flushing of my face for 15 minutes or so. This started happening about every three weeks, more and more severely. Now, I always have red in my face to some extent, and the burning/flushing happens most around my face, ears, neck and around my hairline.
One thing I've found that helps in a meaningful way is to take an antihistamine before bed. I've found Xyzal to be helpful for me, and I'll only take about a third of a 5mg pill. It's not a complete fix, but for me it has completely eliminated the dizziness and it dramatically reduces the sensitivity and sensations on my skin. I tried Claritin, too, but it didn't work as well for me, might be different for you.
I get steroid injections for back pain from time to time, and I had been wondering if methylprednisolone had any role in it, but it's hard to say for sure.
Best of luck to all. Hopefully, if you find anything useful, you'll not forget about these posts and you'll share what you find.
How old are you? I am 52 today and have the same vapor rub feeling on my leg, back , eyes arms etc. I am going throug peri menopause and have all these weird symptoms. Workout and lifting weights alleviate my symptoms. Stress can also be the cause of your symptoms.
I have this feeling that started very faintly about a year ago and was intermittent. Now I feel this after vapor-rub feeling all over on my face, neck, arms, center of chest, back and legs. What was at first an irritating occasional symptom is now becoming painful in a dull and constant manner.
Nothing seems to soothe it, but cold air seems to intensify it. No rash, sores or the like associated.
Been tested with 2 MRI and lumbar puncture. MS has been ruled out since no lesions are present in the brain or spine. However I have every single symptom of MS including pauses in speach, weakness in limbs, mainly from the knee down and elbows down. This is sort of a tired feeling from exercise although no activity has been engaged. There is numbing occasionally as well. Standing and walking for periods greater than an hour become increasingly fatiguing and painful in legs.
My left eye has a muscle spasm like twitch. My vision becomes blurred slightly at times and it's hard to concentrate. Occasionally from peripheral it seems like a shadow or as if something is closer than it really is. Vision is fine but eye doc saw swollen optic nerve. Neuro Opthamologists did the lumbar puncture, pressure measured 18, ruled out Pseudo Tumor Cerebi. upper back pain and tension at base of the neck and shoulders went away almost instantly after lumbar puncture. Headaches at migraine level have subsided as well.
A sharp shooting pain randomly occurs down my left arm. It is sudden and sharp, lasts for a few moments and dissipates. Nothing can stop it or alleviate it don't know what triggers it. Back pains in lower back are increasing. MRI revealed slightly bulging discs.
I have bad abdominal pains gull bladder was removed thinking that would fix, negative. Bowels are irregular as well.
My memory is not normal and again I notice differences in my speach. There's like a slight misfire--I know exactly what I want to say and am intending on saying it or am in the middle of a very fluent conversation and then__a little pause, hardly noticeable to people who don't know me, but clearly not normal for me at all. I have trouble remember simple things and vocabulary, dates I should know.
The most dreadful symptom is a heaviness inside my head. This is the most difficult to describe. It feels like my head has pressure coming from the inside... every movement is felt for instance when walking each step ripples like the vibration you would see in a glass of water... my body is the glass and feels like whatever fluid is rippling with movement, and bending over then standing back up, forget about it, nausea and just yuck.
Now none of this makes sense or seem to be related...maybe they are not ... just really wish there were Docs who cared enough to help me figure out what's wrong. It's like they conclude that since they don't know what it is exactly, then it must not exist. Who would make this stuff up? Who has the money to support such fabrications even if they were making it up? Certainly not I, but am desperate for relief.
My name is Linda, can you contact me? ***@**** regarding the burning Ben Gay thing? I am really in torture on a daily basis, doctors have labeled me crazy. Really need help or someone to talk to regarding this.
Yep, have ice hot feelings on both arms from shoulder to elbow for two months. Waiting to have a Ct scan. Can be painful at times. and very annoying!!!!
I'm having the icy hot burning all over my body as well for the past 17 days. I have had so many different tests and Dr's can't figure this out. What have you all been diagnosed with? I need answers. Scared out of mind! Thank you!
Has anyone gotten better or are your symptoms still present. I've been dealing with the same thing. It's a nerve disorder just wondering if it will get better. This is horrible.
Hi all,
I've been having the icy hot sensation in my left leg: left inner quad, calf, knee and foot. At times it shows up in my arm. Once a spot on my face. I've also had depression, anxiety, fatigue, low blood pressure, achiness at times... I've been doing extensive research---and to make a long story short we suspect Vitamin B6 Toxicity. We had looked at MS, Lymes, and a variety of other maladies... but my symptoms match this. I was taking 50 mg of B6 for 45 days, then 100 mg for 12 days--which can be toxic for systems like mine. Since I've quit all vitamins and started an elimination diet (under my integrative nutrionist MD's direction) my symptoms are fading! This is a commonly poo-pooed concern--but it's easily measured with a blood draw. My best to all. These are terrifying symptoms.
Make sure that you have a full Western Blot test for Lyme disease. The best places are to use are the Igenix labs or to have the lab at Stoney Brook handle it. Lyme is often not detected when labs are not sophisticated in their evaluations (LabCorp for instance may miss it) Since you mentioned JH, I'm assuming that you may be in the mid-Atlantic where Lyme is very prevalent. I have it, as to a number of others who I've known. Check out the website www.ilads.org. It will tell you more on Lyme disease, symptoms, doctors, etc. Good Luck.
I am a 27 yrs old female and only started havinIg a feeling of icy hot on my skin after taking zoloft because I was depressed after trying meth for two days in the beginning of January. I've taken zoloft before because I suffer from chronic depression and anxiety. I have never had any problems with taking medication before and now I am scared to take anything. I hadn't taken any medication since then, but two weeks ago I smoked weed and the symtoms came back along with the feelings of depression and anxiety. I am afraid that the feeling won't go away and I'll be stuck felling like this for the rest of my life.
Well, since I posted last on this particular sight my symptoms have grown into a real nightmare. I am not trying to scare you, but I now have muscle twitches, muscle cramps, burning skin, burning mouth, stocking glove sensation on my arms, hands, feet, legs and my face. My face, knees, and elbows feel like somebody rubbed then with a wire brush. I am now having terrible itching episodes like I have poison ivy or something all over my body, but my skin looks normal. I am currently being seen at John Hopkins. All of my test are normal. They are scratching there heads. They say I have some kind of peripheral nerve disorder, but no indication of what kind because all of my test come up normal. Go figure!!! So basically, I am just taken a bunch of anti seizure meds that don't do S- - -!! I hope this email finds you well and that yours does not progress into something like mine!!! Alot of these things can be as simple as a vitamin deficiency or something. Let's hope that is what you are dealing with.
Take Care!!!
omg, yes. Sounds like you are describing me to a T. I haven't even told my Dr. I am afraid he will think I am crazy.
In the past month or so I started feeling the same kind of icy hot feeling around the front and sides of my head. Now I sometimes feel it in other places as well, such as my arm or upper back. I am a 22 year old female, and I just keep feeling worse all the time. I also get dizzy/woozy and very fatigued. I seems like it might be something auto immune but I don't have any type of diagnosis yet.
I too have this problem, mine starts in my upper chest and up my neck.
also have the skin on chest and neck is red and a little hot to touch.sometimes my arms hurt under near my armpit almost like i have swollen glands. I too get dizzy and weak and have fatigue. I am a 54 year old woman who has lupus for 11 years. maybe it has something to do with the autoimune system. my doctor also doesn't seem to know what it can be. Hope we can all find a cure.
