A certain universe of patients exhibit a certain toxicity when exposed to lidocaine, as well as other drugs. I can't say for certain this is the case. Another possibility is lack of certain CYP 450 superenzymes in the liver necessary to metabolize certain drugs. Another possibility is contamination of the drug batch from the manufacturer due to failure to comply with ISO 9000 manufacturing protocols.
