Why is my whole body twitching constantly?

Hello,

Recently (in the past 2 months or so) I have noticed my legs twitching while I sit at my desk. I am regularly caffeinated at work but I haven't changed the level of caffeine intake significantly in years. About a week ago the twitching spread to my whole body - arms, legs, face, back, hands and feet. Nothing seems to be NOT twitching! I've even noticed it in my voice and sometimes my words will skip. It doesn't really seem to have a pattern of better times or worse times, it's pretty consistent (and annoying!).

I have read that it could be stress and I have definitely been under an unusual amount of emotional stress lately. I also usually exercise regularly but have been skipping it for a couple months now due to a heavy work schedule. Could the twitching just be stress, or related to the lack of exercise? Or should I get tested for more formidable conditions?

My paternal grandfather has Parkinson's Disease (but I don't think that is genetic), and other than that I do not have any degenerative nerve disorders in my family. I don't seem to have any other weirdness going on beyond twitching. I am F, 33.

Thank you!!

Sounds like the stress is catching up to you...could also be ( given your age )  that you could be starting the downhill slide into menopause. Perimenopause can cause those and other " wonderful symptoms" up to 15 years before the dreadful day of "cease fire".
I was in my 20's when I started with symptoms. It wasn't until I reached my 40's that the doctors quit labeling me with anxiety etc and admitted that it "could be " perimenopause.

Check out my post on the menopause forum to see some of the other symptoms we go through. It's an attempt at humor to help those of us that are in this transitional period...if all else fails, you may learn something. lol

Have your thyroid checked!! Those are symptoms of that too.
A neurologist can help if you think it's nerve related...which, if you ever have back or neck pain, could be a factor as well.

Thanks so much for your thoughts! My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for nearly a year with no clear explanation of why we are not successful (ovulation and semen tests have proved normal). Do you think these two things could be related?
