Myasthenia Gravis?

I am a 25 year old female. Some 5 days back i began having weakness in my lower limbs, which has aggravated since then. I find problem majorly in walking and maintaining balance while standing for a while.I am also experiencing drooling and twitching in my right eye for more than a week now. This is third such episode within within 2 years, and such episodes, as i observed are preceded by exertion of some sort. Three years back i had problem of double sightedness for two days (also preceded by overworking), though a proper diagnosis could never be made for all these problems, and eventually these subside on their own.

My doctor says weakness is more in the right limb, and some reflexes are brisk. There is a certain waddling gait, which grows worse as and when i walk more.  However, the electrolyte tests and nerve conduction tests including RNS are all normal.

I have been pescribed pyridostigmine (60 mg) twice a days since yesterday, but any visible effect hasnt been seen. Any diagnosis, please ?

Hi!

Thanks for the response.

As i told, symptomatically, my doc suspects it to be Myasthenia gravis, though the RNS came negative, and AChR test showed borderline positive.

Other tests including that of serum electrolyte levels, Thyroid levels, and Vitamin B12 level came normal.

Any suggestions yet please? i am getting better with rest (or medication, ie. pyridostigmine, though rest alone also alleviated these symptoms the previous two times).

Thanks.

Hello.  Have you received a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis?  Have you specifically had an MG workup?

Sorry to ask more questions than have answers/information.

As a patient, I would suggest that you become familiar with the medication you are taking.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
