Thank you for your response. I am just trying to find the right answer. My doc that did my sugeries does not think I have RSD but a nerve taht is compressing that is causing the problems. I do swim for walking is to hard any more. I am very limited with activities now. Biking is another but my neck and hands take a blunt after. DId they do MRI or other test like EMG to narrow down the RSD . Unfortunately the pain has never gone away and I don't have epoisodes. Neck pain has been for over 24 years but I figured it was part of my trade hazard and an old car accident . The Tarsal Tunnel came the past 3 years. I seem to live with pain and would just like to have some relief. Thanks for your suggestions.

My situation is almost similar... I had reconstructive surgery on my feet and tendons and I was in a car accident in 2004. I still have a pinced nerve on the right side of my neck from the accident, and I was diagnosed with RSD which will keep your nerve compressed and cause lots of pain. The resulted in intense pain in my neck, shoulders, knees, and elbows. After about a year I stopped having the intense pains, but I still had dull achey pain. Currently I am having many other issues with my health and the pain has returned. I am now experiencing numbness and pain in my arms and legs. I don't really think that RSD ever goes away, but it is better than having arthritis or fibro. If you don't have either and it is RSD I would suggest asking your doctor for a seditave like Valium (or drink a lot of beer :), and do pool exercises to keep all of your musles stretched, so when you do have a episode your body will be stretched and relaxed and the pain will not be so intense. When the muscles are relaxed the spasms will not be able to build and reach your nerves...if that makes any sense. Good luck.
