Neuro symptoms

I have an appointment with my neurologist in three weeks, but what tests etc should I ask for.

I have had a burning tingling on my tongue for 6 months now. I often find it difficult to swallow or speak. Also, 3 months ago my shoulder began twitching and rarely stops. I now have limited movement in the thumb on that hand on the same side.

I am concerned it might be als, parkinsons, or fibromyalgia etc since I have had lp and mri to rule out ms. I am 38.

Thank you.

I think it would be a good idea to get a copy of the reports from your MRI & lumbar puncture.

If you see other specialist(s), they might want to see these reports.
Also, it's always helpful to read the reports yourself.

You should not be asking for any tests. That is the neurologists job. You should be providing a detailed time-line of symptoms, in writing, for his records, as well as keeping a diary of symptoms. This information should separate symptoms and detail time of onset, severity (are they getting worse?), and duration. For the swallowing issue you need a consult with an expert in dysphagia, not a neurologist, although the problem may, in fact be neurological.
