Pain,Tingling,Discolouration,Weakness-Right Hand

I was not sure where to place this... hope its in the right place.

Over the last few weeks i have been getting weakness and pain in my right hand, i put it down to too much time on the pc and so cut down heaviliy all the symptoms went away.  Now  after 10 days or so with no symptoms, this evenig they began again only much worse, quite suddenly my right hand felt tight as though it was being constricted at the wrist, my right hand turned a sort of puce/purple colour and i started to get tingling all through my hand, there was pain in my index finger and the whole hand felt hot.  During this time my right limb was free-moving was not pressed on anything or restricted in any way.

After flexing my hand a bit and walking around the symptoms lessened slightly but if i am stationary they seem to get worse, as i type this my hand feels weak and tight.  Any ideas on what it may be?  I dont think i could be Carpel Tunnel as i dont spend THAT much time at a pc and have cut down alot over the last month, i am worried it will damage my hand permenantly...

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

From the symptoms you describe, it sounds that it could be a circulatory disturbance (due to compression of blood vessels) or a nerve pinched.  This may most likely occurs due to any clots in blood vessels, excessive alcohol use (if you do) or diabetes. I would suggest evaluating all the possibilities with the help of a doctor first. Further referral to a neurologist will surely help you in getting a more precise opinion here. Hope this information proves help you.
