It is a common misconception that back pain always stems from the pressure of a slipped disc or a trapped nerve.  This is misleading, the cause of pain is inflammation stimulating nerves, causing the pain signal. Can acupuncture help?Dependent on where the inflammation is Acupuncture can help with back pain.  Acupuncture works well when the inflammation is outside of the spinal column.  Acupuncture does not work when the inflammation is in the spinal column itself. So you should consult a reputable acupuncturist for it.
Based on the findings, epidural steroid shots are not recommended for long-term back pain relief, improving back function, or preventing back surgery, write neurology professor and subcommittee member Carmel Armon, MD, MHS, and colleagues
good luck

Hello Dear,
You should go in for yoga and back extension exercises, which may help you.Going for an epidural is more advisable as the injected medicine would reduce the inflammation and the pain.Consult a physical therapist for pain management,
