Savvy121,
I am having the same symptoms. My right eye almost closes shut when I have the severe pain in that eye. It feels as though a knife is churning in my eye socket and hurts to put my face on a pillow.
It has been 8 years this go around and it has been life changing, not in a good way.
Anyone with info I would really appreciate it.
Hi Savvy121,
It's been years now, but can you tell me what the outcome of your pain and drooping eyelid ended up being? My husband has similar symptoms. Thanks!
The MRI was of the brain and the neck and it was done a couple of months ago. I was only having peripheral neuropathy then. I had bad pain in my eye a couple of years ago and the eye dr gave me some steroid drops to use and said it was some kind of inflamation. So when they said Trigeminal Neuralgia I was a little suprised and when I looked up information on it, it didn't seem to be like what I have. My eye pain starts as a dull ache and builds through the day, by the afternoon and evening it is killing me. The pain is only in my eye. It was in the evening when my eye was hurting really bad that I noticed my eyelid drooping and it lasted maybe an hour or two and then went away. Also my tongue has been numb and tingly a lot the last week so I just figured this probably had something to do with the neuropathy that I have been having.
Hello.
Do you get the drooping of eyelids only when you have eye pain? Does it come any other time?
Isolated eye pain is rarely seen with trigeminal neuralgia. Usually there is a facial pain, reaching up to the scalp, which can increase on even the lightest of touch, water, breeze, etc. Do you have any of these?
Have you got an MRI of the brain done after you have been having these symptoms of drooping of eyelids?
