Thank you very much for your reply.
My GP knows my history of health anxiety and probably thinks that is the reason why I experience these symptoms. I don't have any of the risk factors that you've mentioned. I'm a 19 year old male, never smoked, very very rarely drink, healthy diet, low cholesterol, I never use NSAIDs and I'm actually very fit, 90kg 1.86m and almost no fat, I swim and go to the gym almost every day.
My BP is also good.
I've had MRI 2 years ago to make sure my dizziness symptoms were only due to labyrinthitis and it came back perfectly normal. Maybe it's now a little outdated, though.
Basically I look very healthy. Problem is I don't feel so.
Do you have a history of anxiety, because it sounds like you may, per your statement "(even though it's relatively easy for me to get worried about health issues)"? If you do have anxiety there are non-narcotic medications that can help you, as well as some narcotic ones. If you have a long standing history with your GP perhaps he has seen you being anxious previously, and therefore thinks that is what is going on with you now! However, no MD should ever take such symptoms lightly regardless of how they "think" they know you!
Have you ever had an MRI of your brain? These symptoms sound like what occurs in having a stroke or TIA's (transient ischemic attacks). TIAs are mini strokes that typically leave no lasting damage, but are of concern because they could be warning of a bigger one. I don't want to cause you more "anxiety" about this, but it's important to know about any risk factors for stroke. High cholesterol high fat high sodium diet, smoking, taking hormones, taking prescription NSAIDS like Celebrex, no exercise, prior medical history of you and your family. All of those things need to be taken into consideration!
