Hydrophaelus Doctors

Does everyone with a Hydrophaelus have problems when they don't eat on time. This morning  I ate at 9 am. We were really busy with cleaning up the house, as guests were coming. So I forgot to eat at 12:00 pm, beause I did not feel hungry. However my head told me I was litteraly because I get the weirdess headaches. So I had to stop what I was doing, made a sandwich and shortly after I had finished eating  the headache dissappeared. The pain was horrific, but it did go away as soon as it began.
Oh of course I have daily pain all day long but I learned to live with it. Also , my body has a real hard time functioning. It took  a great deal of concentration to make the sandwich.
Any Ideas why that happens?

Hi there!

The symptoms are likely to be due to low blood sugar and not specific to hydrocephalus. It is always advised to have regular healthy meals to prevent such episodes in future.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

Yes, I can agree with you on that totally. I eat very healthy meals. I was in the AMC a long while back and they did a test on my vitamines found in my blood. They were surprised  how good they were.
However , this pain I wasn't able to bring it home shall I say. Until  I looked outside and saw the snow lying on the ground outside. I get this feeling only when the snow falls and the pressure in the air changes. As for the low sugar, that is what I thought it  was too but my hubby has diabeties and has a meter to measure the sugar content in the blood. He did this test on me twice and my sugar levels were fine.  So that can not be it. It maybe due to the bloodpressure. We also have a bloodpressure meter but did the test on me twice when I felt this way. It was also perfectly fine.
So my conclusion is the atmospheric pressure on my brain when it snows must be the cause of this awful pain.
Good thing for me that I moved from Manitoba Canada.to the Netrherlands. All those years living in sunny Manitoba made my head hurt. I had only realized that I have much less pain now. 1 because we hardly get any snow and  2 the sun hardly shines here , especially for the last few years.
I will never figure out how to help the brain get used to this change in atmospheric pressure because it stays for a short period of time.
I have really been gipped in this life . I get pain from  Rheumatism, when it rains but then again the pain in my head dissappears. Or at best is managable.
What I still can not get used to is the pain in my knees. I really have a hard time going threw the reflex tests because when they use the hammer to test my relexes it is painful .
My reflexes are really jittery more than the normal person( if there is such a person) ha!
I remember in school when we had physical education and we played volley ball ( I hobbled threw it) My legs would shake uncontrollable when I had to squat down to hit the ball. That was way back in the 70's- 80. Of course , No one seemed to notice that .  Or probably thought it was due to nervousness or scared for the ball.  It was not so , that I was scared of the ball. as it was how painful it was to bounce it back off of my arms, and hard judging the distance of it.
The only thing that I was really good at was floor hockey. Basket ball was hard to dribble a ball. I  did  my best but just had a hard time with any ball games.  Schools are so big on sports for kids but no one sees what ailments we have and or chose to ignore it.
I did develope asthmas when I came to Holland.  Here there are so many flowers and plants that flower . These plants are not found in Canada.
Found and great remedy using homepathic medicine. I just have the phlem in the morning now often and on. Depending on how damp it is inside the house. We have placed packages with a chalk like substance in each room in the house. I am feeling much better.
Wished I had a chalk container to absorb the excess fluid in my brain. I noticed when it did start draining once I had gotten a herbal remedy from the homeopath that my brainfluid began to drain. However did feel a pinching by the drain because the shunt could not handle to pump that fast. It has been stablized. Don not ask me how? it just did.
The only thing that scares me now is that falling face forward, my husband yells timber.  A real joker!
The fact that I might go blind and deaf.
Told the Neurologist that I went to several years ago. He blew me off with, Yes, well you seem to have an awful lot wrong with you don't you. What a weirdo that was!
And everyone thinks that I am going crazy!  Gee I wonder why? Could it be that know one knows exactly what I am feeling because no one else has been able to put their pain into perpective.
I am fully aware what my body and brain are up to.  I just have to go with the flow.
Even if the flow means going down stream. I wonder if it will change someday?
The time is counting. I have exactly 2 1/2 years to find out what?
Have a great day !
Thanks for trying to understand. I am glad that my hubby has all these meters to check what is going on with the sugar and blood pressure.
I do not take any medication. Other than the occasional homepathic remedies which seem to helping and then my body sends them a curb ball. They too have to look for different medicines to help still the nerve pain.

I did not mention to you that I had caught Diptheria when I was around 12. That too did have an affect on the nerve system in the body. Yes, we did get  the shots . The Indians didn't beleave in them and some did not.
Mom opened our house to welcome some of them to stay in our home. They were patients that were suppose to cured by the doctors and then sent to us.
At our home they were given a bed to sleep in and meals and could use the house. Most of the times the women stayed in the bedrooms doing bead work.
We got one little girl sent to us that had the most awful cough, that my mother said they should take a closer look at her. She was the carrier of diptheria. I used to hug her and kiss her on the cheek. Played with her, trying to comfort her and make her feel at home.
I was the only one that caught the virus!
Good luck with your studies
